Would it not be possibly be the case that the club feel that by doing this they are safeguarding a key worker. When people get these posts its gives them more of an emotional attachment which would make it a little harder for another club to come and poach a director.

As pointed out by Mrs B the club couldn't pay a dividend anyway.

Directors are employees. Some also own shares, some don't. My point is that the guy seems to have done well and earned a promotion and the foundation/community side of the club, including the new training facilities is now an area big enough to warrant a director in the opinion of the board. Why do we automatically assume they are wrong when we don't know how much work and senior management time is needed to make them a success?

Why have you automatically decided all who've queried the appointment as ppl who know nothing?

Whether it's right or not, why does it matter to you what other ppl's opinions are on the appointment?

And lastly, if i'm allowed 'your Heighness Barista' my opinion is formed on past dealing with said person, and not going into detail, had to be sorted out by, how can i put it, more senior personal!

So i ask again, why can't he carry on as just an employee, why add the tag 'DIRECTOR' if all he is is still just an employee?

There are thousands of directors who are "just employees" i.e. top tier management but not shareholders. In your opinion he's not director calibre, fair enough if that's your experience. Doesn't mean that the there's not a director level role needed to manage the £3m+ training facilities project and the externally-funded comunity programme. You and others are saying it's not needed. I'm suggesting it might be, but how many of us know enough about what is involved to be that sure?

Having read a lot of your posts can I ask one question......Why dont you SUPPORT another club who you feel you can SUPPORT and not be critical of their every move. Sorry to be harsh and I arent one of those everything is rosey in the Hull FC garden but I have not read one supportive post of yours.Everything is negative !!!

I suppose I live in the old world where it was a priveledge to be a Director (As well as being able financially to put something into the club) who oversaw the running of the club.
To me JF is just (and i mean 'JUST') an employee that does well in this area, to make him a director infers he is something special!

Shareholders put something into the club when needed. Directors are just senior managers. Not a big deal at all this, its simply a promotion which he obviously deserves by the way its being given. I dont think anyone on here knows anything about his performance to suggest he shouldnt have got the promotion and frankly its nothing to do with any of us anyway!
