As for biting, it's out of order but 8 matches for biting someone is ridiculous when you could shoulder charge someone in the head, knock them unconscious, give them a concussion and potentially permanent brain damage and get less. Couple of games would be sufficient punishment unless he'd taken a finger off or something.

If it's anything like the James Graham stitch up with not a shred of evidence aside from the fact JG mouth was near Slater's head (Slaters ear was not the result of a bite as mentioned by medical professionals)then Watts will get 8 games.
There needs to be conclusive evidence of the offence otherwise it didn't happen.

A charge in itself does not imply guilt which is what you are effectively saying.
Often these cases are prove you are innocent as opposed to we have to prove you are guilty without any doubt but in any case as with some charges they can and have being overturned which by definition makes a charge not so conclusive afterall right?

Did we charge him?? Think it's odd they carried out an investigation, thought it worthy to charge and then found not guilty. Surely the investigation should have said nothing in it or no proof. Must admit watching the video it was inconclusive at best.

If the Match Review Panel thought the DVD was inconclusive why did they expect the Independent Tribunal to come to a different view?

It does seem to be the case that photos and a medical report were produced. I wonder if the RFL commissioned these or if they were submitted by Rovers.

I didn't like the way they ended the summary with that there was no conclusive proof of a 'deliberate' bite which to me infers they still think he bit Walker which given the actual physical evidence which showed there was no bite and the swinging arm to the mouth area makes that comment churlish at best.
I'd be insisting they amend to there is no evidence of the player biting an opponent full stop.
