There's very little room for error with a direct quote from a named individual. Unless you want to be sued into oblivion, that is. The Wail journos are incompetent, but even they would struggle to be THAT incompetent.

Lets face it if there is any set of newspapers that are more sensational than ours it is the Aussie sports press, if anything concrete was out there they would know. Its all Pure speculation and I repeat what I have always said. I hope against hope that he comes, he would be a sensational signing but I fear that he will not get a visa.
