| Quote ="Saddened!"Hull should be fuming after that. 80% of the performance is there and there is the potential for this Hull team to genuinely challenge this year. But somehow you just don't manage it.
You were the better team against Wigan I thought. They are a bang average side besides Field's pace, they have absolutely nothing in attack and beside Havard and Farrell's industry they don't have a pack either. Yet little moments in the game cost you and most of them are around fitness and composure. Lovodua's 'attempt' on Field for his second try was absolutely pathetic. Field did nothing to earn the break, he stepped well before the line, Lovodua read it and Field effectively gave up, he was bracing for the tackle. Lovodua had his arm around his waist and rather than slap him onto his back, he just let him walk through him. That, combined with Connor's two idiotic passes in the final ten minutes cost you. Even then you were still level. If Hull review the tapes today and see the metres Wigan made in the last two drives up the field for the drop goal attempts they should be ashamed. Wigan made metres far, far too easily. Farrell's run got Wigan about 30 metres up the field again without even doing anything. The Hull defenders were either too tired or too lazy to stop him and happily walked back with him. Just no intensity at all in the last 10 minutes.
Points difference in Super League is a really good indicator of the strength of teams. Hull's is almost identical to Wigan's, yet they are top and you are 5th. They win the scrappy games to get into an artificial position in the table, Hull do the opposite. With Warrington, Hull KR and Leeds bound to improve at some point, you could miss out on the playoffs if you keep doing this.'"
Oooo you can't criticise Connor to our fans
He's the best full back in super league according to dave and Chris

| I personally don’t think Connor is best fb at our club. His lack of pace and poor temperament really doesn’t cut it for me. You look at the professional culture at saints then compare to our squad.
We have 3 big egos in the pivots
Connor Reynolds Gale.
As the wigan game showed our lack of composure in a tight game let us down
Fans get caught up in the stats that connor has the most try assists ..
Flip side is that we run our attack through him and him alone ..
Until he does it in the “ big “ games against the big teams then he won’t make England’s number 1 full back

wrap up Lolohea and they have no attack threat.

Exactly
Apart from passing a ball and a kicking game that's the only things Connor has over Shaul
Shaul is miles faster, has a support play, brilliant in broken field, better defender all the things you need to be full back
Connors defence is just embarrassing at times for a full back and it's costing us a lot
Basically teams break our line these days they score!

| this is the Emperors clothes
Jake is not a FB - not as long as I have a hole in my back passage
No pace - questionable tacking technique - no experience in his life of being a FB - he probably doesn’t even like it
He’s a 6 - end of
for those old enough - it’s like playing Toppo or John Newlove at FB because they’re good ball handlers
I’d deffo have Wynne in and move Jake to 6 and next season save Grubs money to pay off debts, as per 21 accounts.

How well did Shaul play 'big games' the last few seasons, when he was the starting full back?
(In league games against Wigan & Saints)
[iConnor would be a world beater if we was allowed to play Wakefield or Salford 28 games a year instead of saints Wigan etc but we can't[/i
What's bizarre & weird is people like you who can't see how limited Shaul is as a modern day full back.
I've no doubt you'll mention how Shaul scored at Wembley 6 years ago, which we're all greatful for, but it doesn't change the fact that Shaul was a part of our problems towards the end of Radfords reign.
Plus Shaul missed his fair share of tackles too. You're making out he was a brick wall after an opponent made a break. If anything it was the opposite with us shipping massive points from 2017 onwards on a pretty regular basis.

| 1st look on here since the game, no way should we have lost that game. Game management at the end was very poor, Sneyd would have directed the team to get him in front of the posts for a DG, Connor and Gale couldn't do that. Those two loose passes from Connor in the last 10 were very poor. All game I thought Connor was trying too hard. Hopefully he'll learn from it. I'm convinced if we had made that tackle on Jai Field we would have won.
Focussing on positives, Lovodua was superb. Brown, Fash and Johnstone put in great stints, Mau gets better every week and Sao and Satae performed well. We've the makings of a decent top four side, onto the Cup and a few beers in Magic Rock brewery.

Connor isnt the best FB in the league like you'll said I said, which i never had and he has flaws, but the positives far outweigh the negatives and unless we sign a better FB than Shaul or Wynne, who neither have the skill set to be a modern FB he has to stay there particularly with the options we have at halfback.
What I find funny is that you haven't posted on here for the last few games and as soon as Connor does something wrong you are on here in shot, that's easy to do, but you didn't post after Leeds and other games.

| See Houghton is being back to being flogged, when you have another hooker on the bench (although not a very good one) use him at hooker.

Pretty sure he served a ban for an ugly term he used a while ago.
Everyone can see that most of our creativity has come from Connor due to players missing. Gale back is a massive plus and Reynolds due back next week is even better. I’d play Lovodua at loose man, drop Lane to the bench instead of Johnstone. That’s a very good spine. Bring Lane on to spell Houghton moving Lovodua to hooker. Is Evans fit?

| Chris Hill who is 34, did 24 hit ups last night.
Satae and Sao didn't do that between th, in fact it's not even close.
They should each be doing 15 minimum, I dont understand this obsession we have with the amount of work ours backs do.
Who is going to get more meters Satae or Mcintosh?

| There doss seem to be an inconsistency with the workload distribution.
Against Leeds the pack really stepped up and it showed, was it the short turnaround why we seemed to use the backs more against Wigan?
At the end of the day I thought we were the better team, it was poor end game management from a new creative partnership in Gale and Connor that probably meant we didn't take the 2 points. I'm very sure that partnership will learn from this one and improve.
The on the pitch signs are positive, very aggressive kick chase and following defence. Strong performance with Taylor and Evans to return, we have the fringe players all playing well, let's be positive eh. Its a tight league and we're well amongst it.

We've had quite a few players who've had really strong starts to the season like Swift, Lovodua, Fash - exceeding expectations. But we've also got a lot of £ tied up in the stands - Reynolds, Gale, Tuimavave, Taylor, Evans - 5 who've barely played but on big wages. Taylor apart we need to be getting these back soon and delivering

I wouldn't worry. Notice how he appears on the boards of teams who've played Wigan to spout his garbage. I hadn't realised you'd played Saints this week. Obsessed much? I'll let you decide
