I'd go with that, I like the look of Lomax and would have him in and around the squad.

Widdop been playing well from what I've seen, linking up with Cronk better then before and been big part of some good tries.

They both will make a lot of difference to the team.

Probably our best option but the problem is the Exiles could pick 2 or 3 combinations better than that. And that is before we talk about the Kiwi and Aussie national sides...

widdop hasnt been great just coming in and out of games making the odd break here and there ect but heavily relys on cronk,slater and smith

Easily, the best half back in super league for the past two years didn't play.

It's a damn sight easier when you play alongside Cronk and Slater. They will make a difference but it won't be enough.

Even at full strength, England will be tonked by both Australia and New Zealand in the Autumn.

We briefly closed the gap between us and the Aussies around 1990 and then again in 2003 when we were competetive in all three tests, but at present we are as far behind them as we were in 1982.

I still dont think hey will make enough difference to turn over Australia or NZ, but we will see a different and more positive playing team with our key players back in the squad.

Just looking at the player balance

Wigan 4 England 3 Exiles - 7 players
Wire 5 England 2 Exiles - 7 players
Saints 3 England 3 Exiles - 6 players
Leeds 3 England 2 Exiles - 5 players
Hull 1 England 3 Exiles - 4 players

Wakey 1 Exile - 1 player (and brought in last minute)

I think they need to address the balance so fans of all teams can have a feeling of being involved.

No representation at all from Bradford, Hull KR, Quins, Salford,Catalans or Crusaders.

That rules out nearly 50% of fans.

Maybe have to look at how the Exiles squad is picked, without diluting it too much player quality wise

I wasn't bothered personally that Rovers didn't have any rep. Gutted for Welham to have not been noticed but at the same time happy that we go to Leeds on the back of 5 of their players having played 2 nights before and Sinfield continuing his run of poor form. We should have a good following at Headingley - I'm not putting any money on a win, though.

The captain and vice captains of Aus and Nz are automatic picks then four from each club are nominated and one from each picked by the fans.

The coach then has two picks.

No because they all get put into their position list and then you pick a side by selecting one player from each club.

I kind of get it, it's either really straight forward or really complicated.

It's pretty straight forward tbh, probably the way I'm explaining it.

So ultimately there will be a player from each team in the final line-up, plus the 2 captains and 2 chosen by coach?

When it was first getting contemplated i posted this idea and think it would solve the problem of team representation.

Hopefully it will have a vote system like the NRL all stars game with only 1 player per team allowed and the 2 captains of Wales and France along with Pat Richards due to his Man of Steel Status as automatic selections. Voting wise the team would pick if it followed the NRL rules would be:
