| The only way he can possibly be offered a new contract is to have a total wow of a season from now on. In reality though, I would let him go, along with Dowes, Washbrook and Horne.
Hopefully this would gives us enough salary and quota to find a class HB and a couple of forwards.

I disagree he always looks lost. He started well for us and has been better this year. He may not have had one of his better games on Friday though, I grant you.
It's also worth considering that most forwards who are rotated often have one spell in particular that stands out, or can make up for the relative weakness of the other so they kind of balance out. When you're only playing one spell a lot of the time and for shorter minutes, it kind of looks worse if you don't shine, because you have less opportunity to put it right.
All I was saying though was that his lack of game time is not a fair criticism of him, as it is beyond his control.

| If you were paying his wages each week, would you be happy with his contribution? I for one wouldn't!

If I was paying the wage bill each week, I'd be removing the underperforming coach first. It's hard to decide which players are worth keeping when the coach doesn't have them performing to the best of their ability. If we got someone in who could do that, we'd be in a better position to evaluate the players and could also see what they think.
But I'll again come back to the point I'm trying to make and you keep missing: It's not fair to blame him for how long he plays. There are valid criticisms of him, which is fair enough, but to pin on him his lack of gametime when that decision lies with a buffoon who keeps proving that he doesn't know how to handle the bench seems wrong to me.

The length of time he spends on the pitch is irrelevant. The fact is he is unfit doesn't run his weight and clearly offers very little. I want to see him run through brick walls, not dance around in front of the defensive line making very little yardage!

| I've been impressed this season in him checking and channeling his aggression and focussing more on the game than fighting, but that's only a yardstick against himself - when you compare him to moa and o'meley as a prop, or tickle and manu as a second row he comes up short. Maybe a stint at scrum half might be an option

I agree that he needs a big season from here on in. Don't forget our baby on loan at Quins will be raring to go next year.

What makes you think Burnett will sign another contract with FC, he can go where he wants next season, he may chose to move on.

fantasy land mate
I can see Burnett staying at Quins if he likes London life, he's going well for them from what I hear.
