I get really fed up of people making apologies for Agar, he is tactically inept, we all know that from the tripe FC have served up under his "leadership", maybe the squad he inherited was poor, but he has had more than long enough to address that.

Hull FC will go nowhere whilst we have the old boys network coaching at every level, it's high time for a total clear out, we've progressed commercially but not in terms of professionalism on the rugby and coaching side.

I think he was, they also have Grix who can slot in at 6.

It may have been p1$$ poor, but the core of the squad is still here and every one of the players in the current squad has signed a contract since agar took over. He's the one who signed 2 injury prone 1/2 backs and then hides behind their lack of games as an excuse.

He's had ample opportunity to address the problems but hasn't

The real issue isn't clearing out players and getting new ones in, it's what you do with the players you have available. A good coach ends up with a team which is better than the sum of it's parts. With afar, the team performance is always less than you'd expect with the players available. His philosophy is safety first (as was the mentality of his 2 coaching mentors) which will neither entertain the crowd or make the team truly competitive.

Other than changing a few players and almost getting us back to where we were in the league before he took over, what do you think he has really achieved in his near 3 seasons in charge?

What's the betting Webster would get the job at least until the end of the season? If he said no they might even offer it to Andy Last but he would turn it down.

Promoting from within may have worked for Liverpool FC but not for Hull FC. When Agar goes his replacement should be someone from outside the club.

How long do you think it takes to re assemble the squad because whilst there is such apathy Agar can hide behind that excuse.
I know some folk bang on about wigan, hudds and warrington but they really are cases in point. A change and improvement in coach really does make a difference.
As stevo alluded to on sky sports maguire's knowledge and contacts have helped attract 3 top names to their squad and he can't see past them again to retain their crown.
We get phelps, not knocking him, trotting out the I came here to win silverware bollox. He was a last minute panic signing nothing else.

I think this is a very big season for Agar, for me he needs to improve on last years position, 6th....I think we are capable of top 4 spot, however with such a skinny squad a lot will depend on injuries. If he fails this season the h/back/injury excuses will definaltey not wash with me.

I also had a look at their squad and noticed something about their quota,
theres not much difference in the quailty of recruitment but they have all backs and until this week we have all forwards.

I think thats a fair assessment but some on here just want Agar to fail just to satisfy their ego's.

When you think Agar was the top English coach on league standings then they must produce poor English coach's to. He must be doing something right.

I think you have gone over the top a bit. Other SL clubs are in a far worse situation then us. I agree training facilities could be better but in this current climate nothing major will materialise unless we form some part of partnership. As for agar and the cap, there is still enough to bring players in as agar has stressed that they are looking to improve. I think it's make or break for agar. Personally I think he has left it far too late to get decent halfback cover and I think it's gonna be another tough season. Although I do hope agar is a success, I don't think it's going to happen. I predict 8th or just outside play offs! Squad is nowhere near good enough imo.

Its make or break for him this season i believe,if he fails to deliver then i agree,get someone in who can take us to the next level.

I'd willingly sacrifice a Rovers victory on sunday, to ensure that Agar is keeps his job for some time to come.

If you mean what do i want as a suppoter of the club,i want us to be winning trophys year in year out.Do i think Agar is the man to take us there i am openminded but i want him to be successful and the only way he can do that is to get us consistant in winning games.He has had 2 years now to get things on the pitch right so imo this has to be this season where we kick on.I think for him to be a success he has to improve on last season and winning a trophy along the way would be a added bonus.Anything less then the board have to replace him with a ambitious successful coach with a winning mentality.I am willing to give him the chance and i wish him well but no excuses he has to deliver this time.

Then you're like the majority of fans, we'll know after 10 games if Agar has turned the corner, I hope we make the right decision based on the situation at that point in time.

This season is make or break for Agar I feel, he has now had time, ok - we have had some disruption but we cant use that as an excuse. The squad was thin already without losing Tansey - but he is now going to be replaced by Phelps.

I hope, if we do have a poor season, that we dont use the 'its gonna be a massive recruitment off season' excuse
