No point in having a player who can speed down the wing to score tries and then lets twice as many in with sub standard defence.

I do feel for Craig Hall, because if he is in the team and we lose, he is always the fall guy.

Why we have had Whiting on the wing instead of Craig Hall is a bit beyond me, I know defensively Whiting is probably better but he still leaked four tries the other weak against Saints. The trouble with the game over here is that everyone is too cautious, its better to have a player who won't concede then one who will score points but maybe leak a few points too.

In Australia its a different game IMO and hence why the majority of there backlines es all over ours.

Tom Briscoe for me is better suited to the right, which would leave the left wing open.

Halls tall and fairly good in the air, suited to the left hand side, his one on one tacklings improved and he can finish.

It would be very hard on whiting to be dropped but is a option.

It would be an absolute travesty for Whiting to be dropped when he's probably been one of our top 3 performers all year. To drop him for Craig Hall would be a massive insult.

I agree. Whiting has had one poor game this season (Saints at home) and otherwise has hardly put a foot wrong.

I would be tempted to play Berrigan at stand off and Whiting on the bench to play in the pack or cover the backs.

Yes, because if Hall had been recalled and delivered that as his big chance/comeback performance, he wouldn't have automatically deserved to have kept his place. Whiting on the other hand has far more runs on the board this season to justify more automatic selection.

It's a professional sport. You play whoever brings most to the position. Pros and cons to both players as wingers. Either way would hardly be a travesty or a massive insult - just a selection choice.

Surely you play whoever is in form and /or best suited to play against the oppositions strengths AND weaknesses. I'm not so sure Craig would have done any worse than Rich in the Saints game.

Apart from the first try, none of Meli trys where Whiting's fault, he was left short by the rest of the team, the sliding defence was poor on that side for the first 45 minutes of the game.

Says it all in my opinion, our right side sliding defence is often poor and caught out, although Hall cleary has defensive problems but in a lot of his so called howlers this season he has been hung out to dry, its no coincidence that he looked much more solid on our left simply becuase we defend better as a unit on that side, most trys scored by a winger the damage is done well before the winger gets the ball, and in my opinion good sides to a certain extent can afford to carry a winger who is not the best defensively, I know he has his knockers in the Saints support but Ade Gardener is an example of this, playing on our right side he would have looked just as woeful as Hall, yet has consistantly been in the Saints side for years and had an influence in attack, im also not convinced that Calders would have been any better in certain games when Hall has played on that wing, conceding down a wing is the fault of much more then just the winger playing there.

Change the record, we only have 2 in our team both deserve to be in the team.

Some good points, The problem is that sometimes it is his fault, for eaxmple he shoots out of the line like he did against Rovers, also he can still be a bit weak in the tackle.

Also soemtimes he still disapoints with the ball in hand, making stupid passes and poor ball retention.

Good to see him have a good game, as I have said before having yeaman will help him defensivley.

I hope he gets another chance this weekend, not sure how and where though.
