Why not. He's a pretty decent player and would provide COVER for Horne and Long. Are people expecting an international to come and sit on the subs bench??

You should know by now that a Club Of Our Size(tm) should only ever sign internationals. Even our water carrier ought to have past honours if at all possible.

If Obst was available due to Wakey's situation, that's one thing, but I think paying a transfer/compensation fee for him would be too much. We should only be looking at him for a year IMO as he's not good enough for what our longer-term aims should be, and it would be madness to fork out extra money to get someone in for that short term a fix. We'd be better off blooding a youngster.

I completely agree. I would welcome Obst as a 1 year signing to play back-up to Long and Houghton but talk of anything above a small fee is lunacy.
