I agree. Haven't seen as much of these kids as some, but frankly, what is the point of investing in them if they're never going to get a go. It would be difficult if we had to field several debutants all at once, but that wouldn't seem to be necessary. There may always be doubts about whether any player can step up to the next level, but you generally find out more by trying them. Personally I'd much rather see us play some of the youngsters, in their regular positions where they'll be more likely to be comfortable, playing alongside experienced heads also playing in their natural positions, rather than shuffle around "cover" players and end up with half a team playing out of position which has sometimes been the case in the last couple of seasons. I'm not saying we shouldn't recruit, but I don't think we should rush out in desperation when we have lads who have come through the ranks and who would give their all for the shirt and be supported by the fans who would recognise them for doing so.

So will we still hold his registration then or will that of gone when we terminated his contract?

I would imagine that terminating his contract would remove any rights you have to he registration.
If not you would end up the the stange situation of you getting rid of him and being able to claim a fee at a later date.

, but obviously it leaves us so short that im really worried about the season ahead unless we can bring in players pretty soon. i dont know why the club havent gone for gareth moore hes young and english, cheap, proved himself at a good level in the championship and potentially could be a good halfback. yes we have nicko but now with his injury we aint going to see him this year and williams is nowere ready yet and with tansey gone surley moore is worth a punt and dual register him back out to batley. another suggestion ive made before greg mcnally again young,british and cheap and has the ability to play both fullback and halfback and i know hes contracted but surley a decent little fee and the oppitunity of game time at hull could tempt him.

additionallt to that sometimes we never see a players true ability until they are given a go in SL. Some very average U20s players make it big in 1st grade and vice versa. I'd like to even see Williams play in the halves this season to add to the other names. As you say, we wont need to put more than 1 or 2 of them in any given week and that's ideal to bring them on. It's better than playing 6 in once go in round 18 when we have injuries. It would be nice for at least 4 of those to have had 5 games each by then.

You only have to look at Moa who was average at best the majority of the time according to a lot of people (Wilf included) Yet when he got his chance in the first team he was a different player.

Not sure if it is down to better class of players around them, or upping their game for the better opposition or just a subconscious thing.

Problem we have had is that Agar does not seem confident enough to play the younger lads in their preferred positions. The odds are if Williams gets to play 1st team football he will be on the wing or in the centres.
