I don't see the point of getting rid of Luaki for someone who has had a very serious injury in such a short career to be an interchange forward. At least Luaki has been available all season when required even if he always hasn't performed to his best.

for me we still need a backrower and we have a non fed or whatever left so keeping lauaki for a year on a reduced deal would be a good option for me unless we can get better for next year

We need Lauaki (if staying) to be somewhere between the lunatic penalty machine that joined us and the "nice guy" who seems to have had the aggression coached out of him that we've got now. If we could get that back and stop him stepping when he take the ball up, he'd be brilliant.

we can assume that O'Carroll will be on far less wages and is also classed as home grown.

totally agree we need to see a little more controlled agreesion back in his game but theres so much potentially in him and who knows under a new coach we may see more from him and play him in the back row where hes at his best.

I hope we keep him but fear the deal is done with Wigan

it looks likely but if we did keep him then our pack would be complete and be really good

I think he has it but Agar has not used him right..he needs to be allowed to play aggressive rugby, he actually is quite quick with good hands..When I watched him play international he looked like a different player he was really good, I have only seen glimpses of that at Hull, I think he could be an asset under the right coach.

True but I would be a little concerned if we only bring in Lynch and O'Carroll with Fitz, Lauaki and Dowes all leaving. It leaves us a little light in the way of cover IMO.

Time will tell on the O'Carroll signing. Personally I'm pretty concerned about his injuries, mainly because FC's recent history is not that great in the department of taking risks on players with poor injury records. Good that most Wigan fans seem to rate him, mind.

when he played in the right backrow last year he set up a number of tries on that rigth edge due to his size but more importantly his skill, hes not a middle man thats going to bang people about like your moas and ogres do but hes skillfull got great hands and has decent footwork for me i want see him in tha backrow where hes at his best

I'm another who still believes that there is a very good player in Lauaki if we'd just used him in the right way. Much better and more dangerous in the back row IMO, and with his relative pace/speed for a big guy and an all-too seldom seen ability to offload he should have been somewhere between another Manu and a Wakey era Solomona IMO.

He will be classed Federation Trained because he didn't come throught our youth system and is over the age of 21.

This is way the club has to go and follow Wigan and espicailly Saints policy of promting within.

Can't see why anyone would want to keep Lauaki, one good game in nearly 3 years says it all, totally avarage player who is liked because he has big hair and is Tongan.

Another key area for investment already identified by AP is the poor training facilities for the younger players. Let's hope he is able to act as swiftly in this area as he has in others.
