Rovers fans slagging Ellis proves how little they know about rugby. If they had 1/3 of Ellis' professionalism throughout their entire worthless club, it would be quite something.

Think this post says more about you than anything else along with the statement about campese being a moronic signing. At this stage of his rovers career he's probably played as many games as ellis had at the equal point.

Whilst Ellis made an incredible recovery and has shown his value we surely still need to be cautious about the length and terms.
He's 35 in 5 weeks and obviously in great shape fitness wise BUT another serious injury might not recover as well or as timely as his last and that could be a very costly situation. Anything more than 2 years would be pushing it so maybe options for the club on a 3rd.

Not too far off but Ellis had played about half a dozen more games by round eight of his second season than Campese has.

Ellis played exactly half of our 34 games in 2013 but went on to miss only four of 28 in 2014.

My point being he may go on to be injury free from now on (unlikely I know). My post was more a dig at smallears jibes about professionalism and bad signings, Ellis looked a pretty poor signing after his first warm up for Hull but as I stated earlier he is fantastic player when fit.

I hope Campese has a long injury free run, he's a top bloke.

Back to Ellis - vital player for us, unquestionably worth another deal.

I'd give him a 5 year deal, 1 definitely playing with an option on both sides for 1 more and then a move to the coaching staff. Last and Horne need to have been moved on by then. Last has been here how long and achieved what?

Thanks for the welcome, not here to entertain (or insult) just an opinion. I think Ellis will make his own judgement on how long his body can take the hits, but he would be valuable as a part of the coaching team once he does decide enough is enough, I just think as a club we spend money on players but not coaches, IF Tony Smith ends up at Rovers (which I doubt, but am wary that I may be wrong) then we've missed a HUGE opportunity to get a world class D.O.R in to help Lee. Interesting how we've heard nothing of Motu so far this season?

Horne needs to be moved on? Explain your thinking on that? I'm just curious as to how you come to that thinking given he's had a year last yr coaching 19s who played great stuff. Isn't even done 2 years yet and has done a lot of learning already regarding coaching! I know he's been around the country checking out other sporting clubs meeting coaches spending time in their facilities seeing how they do things etc

Nobody ever made Horne look a 'world beater'. Or anything else for that matter. Horne made himself look what he was - a very good SL standard player.

We had all this at exactly the same time last year from another "capitalist", FCFALERNA. Bitched about every aspect of the club for a couple weeks then went MIA when we looked on course for the top 8. Maybe just holidaying in the Mediterranean with Radford on his mind. Understandable.

He'll be top 3 for the great majority of every game he plays for us. Different class it's as simple as that.

I'm absolutely in awe of Ellis. That injury should have been a year out minimum, and at that age should probably have been a retirement. He came back in half the time, straight back in doing long minutes, played both games over Easter and was our best player (along with Shaul) across the two. Late in games, after big minutes, he's poking his nose through and carrying two or three tacklers another ten yards with him. Last minute at Rovers, there he is with a tackle to drive them off towards the touchline, ruining their field position and running the clock. I just think the guy is incredible. Contract immediately.

Amor must have hated it tonight. Ellis totally had his number. Ouch.
