Brough and Chase would be awesome but they won't be too effective without a good pack, I wanna see 2 very good props to replace omeley and moa.

In football, AP has not had to pay transfer fees out of his own pocket! I don't see why we should be expecting him to pay big transfer fees as well as funding operating losses. He is not a philanthropist or a billionaire.

Hopefully, it might be realistic to get e.g. 100k for Tickle and buy Chase for 200K.

Not about expecting him to do anything, however if he seriously wants to challenge like he says he will have to speculate to accumulate and pay transfer fees.

I really hope that AP is going to back up his words with serious actions for next season. We need quality signings and lots of them. A list of new recruits of the standard of Pitts, McGoldrick, Aspinwall, Martin etc... will see us go further backwards. (and we have gone backwards)

I was so optimistic after the first derby and the Leeds game but our season has completely gone down the toilet and we now are now looking as bad as any Agar team did. Yes we have some key injuries and yes there seem to be some issues within the squad but we have gone backwards at an alarming rate.

If AP wants a serious squad for next season, he will need to find and secure the signatures of 2/3 quality props, at least 1 quality back rower, 2 top class HB's, a full back and a winger. Unless he has already done this in our "list of 6" he has a hell of a lot of work to do.

We are a bit like Warrington were a few years ago. Not got the squad or the youth to challenge.
We need to do something similar to what they did. Splash the cash on some marquee players in key positions, and then after a few years when the youth has had a chance to mingle with a higher calibre of player, mix them into the team.

Whether we can afford to or are willing to spend that much money is another question. We are VERY short of quality in a lot of key areas. We won't get them all at once I don't think. I think talk of Chase AND Brough/Holdsworth is highly unlikely. It's not amazingly likely we'll get any one of them. We could also do with a full back and a big impact prop. And a winger (is Crookes confirmed?).

Agree with most of that but "one big impact prop"? As far as I can see, we have Lynch and Watts for next season (with Bowden as back-up). We need a minimum of 2 very good props and a quality SR to have any chance of competing with the best. On top of that, one or ideally two quality half backs are a minimum requirement. That is a big ask in one season.

Spoke to my parents this morning about hull and they are considering not getting a pass next season, I have never in my lifetime known them not get a pass for hull. I feel that there will be a few like this unless recruitment really improves, ever season seems the same with us starting well getting injuries and then our season fading badly, it always seems to be next season.

Why? Clearly PG has an idea of what he wants and that is why he is getting rid of the dead wood straight away, i know we lost Manu but he has replaced him, let's just wait and see when all is done and stop panicking

Even with everything that has gone on this year, it is far better than the previous 2 years!

What have they won?????...Also these 4 teams have spent money on the youth set-up and are reaping the benefits,thats why we have to sign "average" players to plug the bloody gaps.

Those four teams have won literally just about every trophy for the last 7 or 8 seasons.

We don't have too many of those left now. Horne and Seymour are the two obvious ones.
