My own opinion is that people do deserve chances in life, to make up for their mistakes. Whether this is in jail, or being sacked and reflecting on things or otherwise.

Drink driving is bad, lets face it. But it is not the worst thing to happen in the world.
What annoys me is well paid sportsmen being so fecking stupid.

Whilst I will shy away from saying get rid, as I believe that to be extreme, I am now very concerned. I would say that we need to make damn sure we tell him what is acceptable, and what is not. If he strays, get rid then.

Think he does have good captaincy credentials, but I personally am still not a fan of newcomers getting the role straight away.

I dont think the captaincy is as important as it used to be, did'nt Wigan have 5 team leaders last year. If we had just 1 I'd go for danny tickle. he had great season last year and plays loads of minutes. Danny Houghton definately one for the future though

Really? I think it's very important how our senior players behave, and if there's no discipline, well, we've seen how that pans out. That's without even considering the wider effect of how players' behaviour reflects on the club in general, how it is viewed by sponsors etc.

Cant help but think that Seymour is a just plain d!ck after this latest transgression on the eve of him joining his new club. Id cancel his contract now under gross misconduct and go with that weve got.

Grow up, mate. I don't profess to be perfect, but I haven't been sacked from jobs for poor discipline/alcohol related issues, and I would never get behind the wheel of a car after drinking. He seems to have learnt nothing and I just think that after the upheaval we've had over the last few years, bringing someone in who has the potential to disrupt things further isn't a good idea. It looks like Tansey all over again.

That's not an unreasonable position and, whether you agree with it or not, posts like the one above just make you look petty.

He's an alcoholic not a binge drnker. He has a serious condition that he needs help with. He already has his visa and is now Hull's responsibility until his contract ends. I think the club ought to be looking at ways to help him until that time.

And your posts make you look like your on a witch hunt......Maybe he hasnt learnt from his mistakes but maybe Gentle and Bomber will know how to handle him and i will trust their judgement on this.

I take that point, to an extent, but Hull FC is a sports club, not a substance misuse clinic. I don't mean that as callously as it maybe comes across, but there comes a point with any illness/addiction where it starts affecting a person's ability to perform his duties and steps have to be taken. Personally, I'd have preferred it if we weren't in that position to start with.

Lots of double standards on here. Everyone wanted rid of Tansey because of his alcohol related incidents yet because Seymour is seen as our half back saviour people are having very selective memories. History shows Seymour doesnt learn his lesson and has embarassed himself and his new club before hes even got here with this latest incident. I for one now fully expect him to either not arrive or if he does, embarass Hull FC on at least more than one occasion on his stay here and history shows that there is a very strong chance of this.

How can I be on a witch hunt? I don't even know the bloke. All I'm saying is we've had enough problems in recent years, and signing a bloke with this sort of baggage has the potential to cause a whole lot more.
