From my descriptive clearly was detailing a PTB situation, I agree forwards should be making efforts to get back to form a scrum when time is short but that is generally in the last few minutes.
My point was you disagreed with earlier posters with regard to one of the back three taking the ball up on 1st/2nd tackle after a kick downfield. I was pointing out how that was not only extremely difficult for a forward to be in a position to do so but also the effectiveness of such.

As much as I hope he has a good game, for me he doesn't do enough for a quota player. Never runs his weight and again only did 20 mins yest. Not good enough! Just watched the game on Sky and it was mentioned that he was only included cos Turner had pulled out?!

The more I see him, the more disappointed I am. He's a lazy pudding. Compare him to Manu and Moa, no contest. Other guys his size in the league do far more than Hame.

Not worth another contract!

I made that comparison yesterday: Moa was looking for work and took two drives to Lauaki's none. He also tackled a player on the right side of defence and then moved across field to make the tackle on the left, all the time Lauaki was running around like a headless chicken.

He can go for me, definitely not worth a quota place.

He can go as far as i care,for someone of his size and strength he doesnt make the inroads and disapears a lot during the game,We have given him his ''opportunity knocks',And he is supposed to be trying to impress for another contract

Didn't do anything wrong in his short spell yesterday, but we can do far better for the salary he is on. Would be the first on my list to go at the end of the season.

Props go through too much work. You need to spread the work load otherwise you won't get the best out of your props. I'd rather see our wingers and full backs taking in kick returns and the early part of the tackle where all of the opposition defence isn't fully set so they can take advantage of that little bit of extra open space.

I'd rather keep our props fresh so they can be more effective when REALLY needed, which isn't in the first two drives after a kick. You can't expect our forwards to do all the work, otherwise they'd be completely knackered, and then people would moan that they aren't fit enough. It's tactics, and they are used by pretty much every club at every level because they are smart and efficient ones.

I'll still stand by my opinion though.

Agreed doesn't run his size he's a typical example of having all the attributes of been a top quality player but doesn't really have the heart for it, you need both to succeed in this game at the top level, as somebody has already said the heart and desire that moa shows is a great example of this, and I know that lauaki is on a fairly large contract one of the better payed players, which we could use far more effectively IMO.

Doesn't punch his weight and yesterday missed 3 tackles on the same player in the space if 10 seconds. Get rid.

He's the one player that consistantly fails to perform to a decent level on both attack and defence, for the money he's on and the fact he's taking up a quota spot I'd let him go. FWIW I'd put him in the starting line up on Monday as he's brought next to nothing off the bench and he cannot be tired or injured for what he did yesterday.

Yes we got a very good win, but he was carried for the time he spent on the pitch. I'd love to see the guy rip it up week in week out and see teams themselves when he gets the ball, but they know what he's going to do and that he's far too lightweight in attack............ And please dont get me started on his defence!

I walked past Hame in a shop a few weeks back and couldnt believe the size of the guy. Either he's being told to play that way or he's not bothered about putting in the effort anymore. The one thing about his game was his unpredictability but thats gone along with his aggression.

On recent performances and the highlights from France, I really dont see what he has to offer above the likes of Hutch and Hitro.

Whilst there are a lot of valid points being made, I do think it's unfair to throw the amount of minutes he plays against him. That's not exactly his decision. A lot are using Moa as a measuring stick, but I don't see the same people having a pop at him for coming off after only 12 minutes.

We don't share the work across our pack effectively and haven't for some time, but there isn't a single player that should be blamed for that.

If he plays 10 mins per game but runs at the oppo like his life depended on it then I'd understand your comment. Whether he's on for 1 or 80 mins, he's lost, end of!

Half our pack usually does the full 80. It's ridiculous

The interchange strategy is mental

He is good enough for a quota player, we need he spot to sign a back.

Replace him internally with Green or Cunningham.

Be a poor decision is we keep him.

They'll all be knackered at the end of the season and we'll fade away to nothing like last year - only problem is that last year we were sat in 4th place when it started to happen

Really ought to be putting in the young forwards in place of Lauaki ready for next year. Why persevere with him unless he's going to get a new contract?

Got to justify paying big wages somehow.

When I first saw the size of him I thought we had someone who could steamroller defences.Then again,what do I know?, I thought the same about Hutch.
