dont get me wrong, he has decent games but he's had too many chances to cement a position in my opinion and he hasnt..as ive said before, many players havent had the chances he's had and there currently not with us, but lee and graeme horne seem to be allowed to continue there careers with us in positions that dont suit them...maybe it would be better for all parties if we were to split!!? any thoughts??

His defence is more than adequate IMO which is not something I would say of Houghton. Houghton is quite literally always dominated either with or without the ball.

I totally agree with your comments regarding the square markers but that is the only area in which Houghton is superior IMO. Hardly conclusive evidence that Houghton is far better than Lee as many are claiming.

FWIW I think Houghton will improve the other areas of his game and go on to be a far better Hooker than Lee. I just dont think he is at this moment in time.

Several other players must have something massive on someone at the club then.

Perhaps you might see my point that some on here are quick not only to judge a person but to completely write them off. It doesn't mean you're their mate, lover or relative it just means you like to build your arguments on slightly more than being able to point a finger.

Neither Lee or G.Horne should be anywhere near the starting 13 IMO. G.Horne has had far longer than Lee to cement a place and hasn't so yes he should go. Lee will still be relatively cheap and makes a decent squad member so should stay.

Say for instance Berrigan is injured next season or has to play at SH/SO who spells Houghton at Hooker? Houghton is not even close to being able to do 80 mins IMO and he is most effective when coming off the bench. Lee is cheap enough to be kept in the squad.

He has played on one leg all season and looked 3rd choice. What are you basing that on? He has never proven himself since moving here 2 seasons ago.

fair point regards cheapness...as for replacement, tansey can do a job at hooker but would we want to move him from full back..??

well, im basing it on that he is first choice hooker despite having one leg...also he's our best hooker one or two legs..

I agree, Houghtons defence has improved alot since last season due to his increase in body weight and will continue to do so.

As i said the main reason i wouldnt keep Lee is the fact he has fallen into the 'Party Boy Crew' and i actually think for his development as a player a change of scenary would do him good.

First choice based on him being a former Oz international or first choice based on his form playing here for 2 seasons?

have to disagree there dave, berrigan is a class act but has struggled behind a beaten pack for the last two seasons, he's looked like the only one that could give us a bit of a spark, before you ask, no, im not his lover or close family friend

Yes he has been behind a beaten pack for some of the games not all of them. And even behind a beaten pack when he injects himself into a game he can change it and have a huge impact. Im just fed up with watching him plod about for 70 mins and then do something world class which leaves people proclaiming that he is awsome.

He is world class we cant deny that, however i can count on one hand the glimpses of world class he has shown in an FC shirt over 2 season. Beaten pack or not he has not been good enough for the salary we pay him.
