don't really see how one game played in the best weather of the year is a massive argument one way or the other for sunday rugby.

our away followings are made up of a group who will watch the club anytime, anywhere...the size of the rest of the following is largely due to our form.

it was good to have a game at Headingley on a sunday afternoon for a change, but Leeds (as with all clubs) have to play when its most profitable.

Was surprised with our following today a lot more than i expected. West was packed out and a cracking atmosphere.

Was firmly in the "Friday night" camp. Today at Leeds in the sun reminded me how nice a Sunday day out can be, too. Still think every Sunday puts too much strain on family time, though.

So now in the "some of both" camp.

We should Start on a Friday and come home Sunday



I love the Sunday games but it can also be very intrusive in respects of other interests. Fridays at home I'm almost becoming accustomed to - - - Almost.

I'd prefer to see a mix of sunday and friday games personally. It's nice to have the odd sunday game (yesterday for example) but it kills the atmopshere imo. Yesterday despite the large number of hull fans that travelled to Leeds, I can't say I was overly impressed by the noise we made.

Sunday Games early season are fine but from June onwards when families could do so many other things on a Sunday, Fridays are best I think. Just my views though!

Same for me really, guess the CC gives us a chance of some, just be nice to have a few sundays mixed in esp as a lot of aways seem to end up on a friday too

Fridays work best for me. It would not be worth me buying a pass if we played on Sundays. I enjoy a few Sunday away matches (like yesterday) but could not go on Sunday every week.

I think a mixture of the 2 would be nice for those that work full time and Friday nights are a killer for. We're really looking forward to making the most of a child free weekend and heading into town both before and after the game on Saturday!!!



Personally I like Friday nights as it gets the game out of the way and opens up the rest of the weekend to go away and do other things but I also understand how many people just want to get in from work, kick off their shoes and chill on a Friday night. I leave at 12.30 on a Friday so it's not too bad for me.

That being said, it was great being stood outside the Original Oak at 11.50 waiting for it to open!!!

For me a mix would be right too, but I can't understand why the club came out with the "letting families do other things at the weekend" argument. If I was a business (and there's probably a very good reason why I'm not) I'd want people to be spending money at my business, not at Hornsea or Withernsea or wherever. Put your money in my/SMC pocket for the good of my business.

I mean the club thinks its great and arrange all the home matches for Friday I did enjoy the Rich Horne testimonial match that was ideal for a Friday night....................hang on a minute

I am not bothered anymore and I go when I feel like it and I go to many different clubs now, I am enjoying it.

The club need to look at it from a different view. Playing the likes of Quins/Salford/Crusaders/Catalans/Hudds are fine for Fridays as the impact on the away support is minimal. However for the big games like Leeds/Wigan/Saints etc could well boost attendances by being on a Sunday.
Personally i love the friday nights but the club are missing a trick regarding away supporter numbers IMO.

In that case I guess Leeds and Wigan must be missing the same trick too.

The three best supported teams in Super League all play their home games on a Friday night.

Leeds and Wigan are in a better location for the majority of teams to reach them in approximately an hour. We on the other hand are a lot further away especially for the lancashire teams.

So when we go to Wigan we travel less

and other Lancaster teams who play Friday nights

..So its unfair for them to travel to Hull on a Friday

I think we would take even more to Wigan if we played them on a Sunday

Strange how we can travel across the m62 in big numbers for a friday night v Wigan.

Like i said i am happy with Fridays and will be happy for them to continue.

away fans just dont like coming to hull in big numbers whatever day we play them on, there are rare occasions though, like wigan fans filling the north stand for the play off game in 2007..... on a saturday night. very rare to see over 500 away fans at the kc, most supporters pick and choose their away games and unless it is a really big game would probably not choose 1 of their furthest away days as 1 to go to.

Now the two can be merged into one wonderful occasion.

have to agree, you could let the opposition fans pick the time of the game, and give them a free lift here and they'd still bring 500.

We are still repairing damaged away fan's mindset from previous visits to Hull/The Boulevard. We do seem to get more 'I enjoyed my visit' posts on here these days though, so folk are coming round to the new match day experience at the KC. However, you are right what you say, because no matter how hard we try, we can't change the location of the place

But weekends start on Thursdays these days

Difficult really to say which is better, Saturdays game will be interesting crowd wise. If we get a good bumper crowd even though it is on TV then it would ignite the argument more I guess.
