| Several reasons:
1.Uppity bandwaggon supporters who want the stadium to themselves and think they can kick us out (they can't)
2.Idiot (now ex) chairman who said "rugby fans can't write" on live radio.
3.So we can get an independent head of the SMC who can deliver more value to the Hull tax payer and utilize the stadium more instead of serving their self interest of Hull City. Hull FC fans may be please Duffen is gone but we were not exactly over enamored with Pearson either, remember when he banned the HDM from the KC because he didn't like what they wrote about City.
4. Talk over developing the east stand so it closed during our season causing major disruption, this is only of benefit to Hull City. (Although thats probably not going to happen now)

| So, to remit, it's basically because we had a bit of success, which went to a few fans' heads. It happens.
And don't forget, as has been pointed out by several FC fans in the past, the no-show on the international RL game was not the fault of Paul Duffen, as much as some would still like it to be.
I'm struggling to see genuine reasons for wanting City to fail, other than a bit of green-eyed scepticism.

Of what?
What is there to be 'green-eyed' for?
Never really cared about City and never will I don't think, most on here don't....different sport you see.
On the other hand laughing at the City numpty fans who wanna try and put down RL at every opportunity is now taking up all my spare time. Knooblers like yourself bring it on.
Fuck me we have had senior management issues over the years, but you lot take the pish.

To which particular facts are you referring?
The particular fact I have a beef with is the one where the Council have gifted control of the city's community stadium - our home stadium - to any Tom Dick or Harry who cares to have a play at running our football team.
That's not good for the city and potentially not good for rugby league in this city - a la Duffen.
And no, there are no serpents in the Atlantic. Sea snakes are prolific in the Pacific, though. What's your point?
(Incidentally, your sig would indicate that it is you who has trouble differentiating fact from fiction.)

| I am sorry fopr the genuine City fans , the ones who have followed them for years and have had all this just when the achieve the highest goa. I suspect that Hull city are a lot further in the brown stuff then those accoubts from last year own upto. I was discussing this earler with a local politician and the effects on the stadium and he has assuered me that all will be well with the stadiums running as they where looking at.
He thought the clubs debt was now well in access of the £21 m and if Pearson comes in his remit will be to [isave the club [/ias oppossed to staying up. With some re-structering of debts he said it could well be alright but there would be a downside in that the club would have to release/sell some of its more expensive assets.
Its just a bad job all way a round and one I suspect many city fans where always aware of, it is never far from my mind. One thing this board has done for the club is to appear to manage the clubs finances well and for that I am greatful.

Agree completely.
Our board are obtuse and obstinate on occasion, but they saved Hull FC and are managing it for stability and steady growth. We have a future and are in profit.
I don't know (or care particularly) why it has all gone so wrong at City when this era should have been their new dawn. I guess it's down to the owners and management. The same ones who own the SMC.
The thing that worries me is how any local politician or Council official can give those assurances of the future running of the stadium as they have gifted that control away. Or is it in their power to seize back the SMC?

Guess thats the fact standee may have been saying is incorrect. The council tendered for someone to take the lease and manage the stadium, it then turned out that the next company to buy the lease each time seemed to be the same as the people that ran the football club. hardly gifting it to anyone.

No, any trustee appointed to administer the SMC (should hit go t!ts up) would look to sell the business, or get someone to take over the running of it. the Council would not be in a position to buy it.

Its a lease as the council still own the stadium. The council have the option should the current tennant go out of business to run their own stadium, they wouldnt have to buy their own lease.
FWIW i know people at the council that are baffled that the management was leased out anyway, ultimately the council are allowing a 3rd party to make the profits on the stadium that they should and could be making.

The council own the stadium and leased it to the smc.
They wouldn't need to buy anything

| Its all set up so that the SMC maintains and upkeeps the stadium and are resonsible for any major repairs etc.
The way it was set up makes sure that it does not become a burden on council tax payers, that was always going to be vital.

That's the way I see it.
Received this from Councillor Minns back in March (think someone else also posted this, but anyway..)
--------
Dear ,
Thank you for your letter regarding the KC Stadium and rugby internationals.
The Council were only made aware of the problems regarding international matches at a very late stage by the Rugby Football League. At this time the Council did try to broker a deal to enable international rugby to be played at the KC Stadium this year. Unfortunately we ran out of time before any agreement could be reached.
To answer you question, the council has never had a voice in the management of the stadium as it gave a 50 year lease to the SMC in 2001, it is a legal agreement and there is little, in law that the council can do to alter it.
I have spoken to Paul Duffen regarding to the use of the Community Stadium and he is aware of how upset fans are. Rest assured that the Council and the Rugby Football League will work together to bring international rugby to the stadium in the future.
Yours sincerely
Carl Minns
--------
Did he mean "gave" in the literal sense? Perhaps as part of the Hull City agreement? If so, that lease is an asset of the SMC and would be sold on for the benefit of the SMC's creditors.

It also proves how many people Duffen turned against the club, possibly contributing; only slightly mind, to their current financial situation.
