The Club are producing leaflets and fliers to give out tomorrow about it all I think.

But all the ideas about on line ticket sales, pre loaded smart cards, kiosks selling unreserved tickets and selling them in pubs around the ground that have featured on here are great but the SMC has to give us permission to do that. Its in their gift, they hold the ground certificates and license and are responsible by law for one ticket one seat, so they would have to pull off the tickets in advance for the kiosks and/or they would have to set up an on line booking service.

And if they refuse to give us permission to do any of these things (which would cost it nothing) we'll know its not just about the SMC wanting to cut its costs and there is another agenda.

Not everyone has access to "modern day technology", and any such ticketing system would probably need to be implemented by the SMC.

I'm sure the SMC would go for this, as they get their unmanned turnstyles and more money.

Personally I'd prefer that they remained some turnstyles but if that isn't possible they are easy ways to make it easier for fans to buy tickets on a weekly basis.

Hull city already have a buy online facility where if you buy them by the Wednesday before the game they post them out to you, you can even pick your individual seat, if it's after the Wednesday you just pick them up at the ticket office with a dedicated queue for collectiions, I've been doing this for a few years and could never understand why hull don't do the same.

That said the brother in law uses the print at home facility for rovers and that works well too.

Sorry, but you are saying that because you know of nobody who hasn't access one way or another, then everybody has access, which is very unlikely.

If you're happy to use a "friends" pc to buy over the internet using your credit/debit card, then good luck.

Id say that nearly 100% of hull fans will have access to the internet through their own or a friend or family.

Personally I trust all my friends and family and would be happy to use my credit card on their computers.

Karoo has nearly 90,000 subscribers, with an average of just under 3 people per household I think most of the near 250,000 population of Hull is covered. I think it would be safe to think of the amount of people that are 1) Hull FC fans. 2) Not season ticket holders. 3) Can't get to the stadium before game day - is negligible.

Doesn't make what they're doing any less wrong, just that it doesn't have to be as catastrophic as is sometimes made out.

Exactly I'm sure everyone would prefer things to stay as they are, but if that isn't possible then it's up to Hull to make it as easy as possible for fans to buy tickets

What I don't like (understand) is the fact that it probably costs about £100 to open 4 cash turnstiles, but AP is prepared (forced?) to discount tickets to encourage early purchases, which could cost the club £1000 per game.

Hopefully we'll get permission to put mobile ticket stalls up so that those kind of costs can be avoided.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the stadium at huddersfield? I think it's owned and managed by the 2 clubs and the council. Does it make a profit or a loss? they have much smaller crowds than us there for both teams so match day income across the board will be massively less. Can't imagine the stadium is significantly cheaper to run but what range of events run there to supplement income?

The whole thing was badly set up from the off with the council being talked into handing over control
