If UKAD were aware in June that other players had taken the drug without knowing it I'dve thought they would have issued any punshiments at the same time as Gleeson, Rule and Cooper.

Depends. According to this, several of the Leeds squad were taking a banned supplement. Senior and Bailey were the only ones testing positive, got a fine, but no ban.

Senior's words, not mine. Seems to have been even less scrutiny there than checking with the club conditioner - Senior said he "showed them to someone with a medical background" - could have been a dental hygienist for all that tells you. In terms of the supplement issue itself, it sounds pretty much identical to what happened at Hull IMO.

The choice to cover it up by a combination of Rule and the RFL is entirely separate, but the underlying supplement point seems very similar.

Senior was on Ephedrine which is an amphetamine.

What Gleeson took was similar to caffene, So cant really compare them. If it could the UKAD would ban caffene.

No it's no defence. However, RFL have not charged anyone else so can't see any more charges being brought.

Hudgell was on Humberside this morning and is taking it further. If they'd won the derby and finished higher, who knows what might have happened to their season, after such a narrow play-off result for them.



Wonder whether the honeymoon's over with Pearson? Alternatively AP might be pleased as it sounded like Hudgell was wanting Hetherington brought to account.

There needs to be an enquiry, the fact that a request was made and granted to have a provisional suspension lifted in the first place is shocking behaviour. I think it's more of an inquiry into the governing bodies behaviour that is needed rather than anything else

There is zero chance of the RFL launching an enquiry into it's own behaviour. Having ruled that out, what other avenues are open? None that I can think of.

By whom? I'm not trying to be difficult here as I strongly believe that anyone knowingly involved ought to be punished appropriately, but the only two bodies with authority in this area are the RFL and UKAD and both of them have made it clear that they will not be taking further action.

The RFL has always protected itself first and foremost. Given a choice of actions they will always opt for the one that gives them the easier life or shows them in the best possible light - the path of least resistance. A number of clubs have benefited from this attitude over the years - Rovers included - and I don't see it changing any time soon.

And yes, I am deeply cynical.

I agree with him too. Not sure what good it will do, as Kosh says, but the more comes out on this, the more the club's name gets dragged through the dirt and the less I like the whole thing.

If(big if i know) it can be proved that Rimmer and that lass did what gleesons statement says ie witheld info from the drug peeps if(2nd big if)enough people big in statue in the game apply pressure(Is Hudge the 1st?)then the position will quickly become untenable and action will be taken to help plaster over the rfl wound.

Aye unfortunatley that would be the consequence. Not enjoying this one little bit every little nook and cranny of the story is bringing our name down but if it's going to happen why not lets have it done now. Get it over and done with. Because for some strange reason "The RFL wish to comment no further at this time" does not fill me with confidence that this is quite over just yet.

UKAD have already investigated the role of Rimmer and Rosewarne and cleared them both. This was with the full cooperation of Gleeson so they will have already heard everything he had to say in the article and seen all the 'documentary evidence' he claims to have. The RFL will just fort up behind that regardless of what Hudge or anyone else wants.
