Carvell is still a more than decent player, when fit. When he left it was under Hetherington, who lets face it, probably was partly complicit in his departure.

Are the rovers fans trying to convince us or themselves he's not signing for Hull?

Are you trying to convince us that Hull are a better prospect than Catalans ,Wigan or the NRL ?

That really would be an exercise in futility.

What positions do people think we"ll try and fill with all the spare salary cap we"ll have spare . I know you can always strengthen any team but with some players on long contracts etc , I reckon we only need/ sign 1 maybe 2 props and a back up back rower . To take us that extra step I think we also need a top notch centre to replace yeaman but that won't happen yet .

Way I see it we're losing Briscoe tickle n ogre. That's a real wedge of salary, we actually of them 3 only really need to replace ogre. I would n we'll have to due to lack of viable prop options here n abroad pay a lot, probably more than we'd like but are in a position to do so.
If we pay a big salary, is put up in a house, courtesy car it can be pretty lucrative for overseas players. For him to go home it would take an outright great salary to beat that when you factor in cost of living in oz at this moment. Would n r l team be willing to pay so much based just on great form this yr, because they wasn't lining up before he left oz n wasn't the same player last as he is this.

An aspect that could go for or against us regarding Catalans and Wigans' competition for his signature is that he already lives locally to us. Does he like living here or not? Similarly, what does Lopini think of Perpignan and playing for Les Cats? His feedback could have some influence.

Then again, it could simply boil down to the biggest ker-ching sound. Who out of the SL clubs of greater stature than Rovers are prepared to offer the biggest deal?

I was told back in may that Salford were in talks with Paea he was waiting to see if Hull KR could offer him the same deal as we were offering, The reds will be releasing upto 10 players at the end of this year. Patterson isn't coming to the reds by the way hes off back to the NRL and that's from our ex CEO.
