I do wonder if the club statement about opening talks with manu was to either try and put pressure on him to sign or to appease the fans because they knew he was on his way out of the door but at least wanted to appear to have tried to keep him.

I'm getting more and more concerned about this with Manu now.

So at the end of the season (and rather soon if rumours are true about Wade) we could be losing the likes of Moa Manu O'Meley Turner McKinnon Briscoe Aspinwall Martin Burnett.
Plenty of talent there. But would leave us with alot to spend on the cap.

Rumour is we're losing every member of the squad and bringing in a new one. That should just about cover all the cack on here.

Whereas in the past I wold have been worried about losing decent players, with AP, SM & PG in charge I have confidence in their ability (& desire) to bring people in who are of equal talent (& maybe even better).

I'd go with that.

Hull are not going to break the bank for Turner as we have Yeaman, Arundel(allegedly) and Crooks, same for Manu as we have Ellis and Tickle who do 80 every week with Kent and Whiting and maybe Aspinwall backing them up. O'Meley is starting to show the strains of a long career. Moa would be a massive loss but cannot be helped unfortunately. If McKinnon goes I would love to see Minnichello come in for him. Sign another winger and prop too for next season.

But some people on here want us to go out of our way to keep these players, if they don't want to stay I wouldn't break the bank for them.

Turner is starting to look like a quality player. He's big, quick and strong. His defence is improving and he has the ability to put his centre away in a way that yeaman can only dream of. The kid has masses of improvement left in him and I think he'll go on to be a top class centre/back rower. I don't see the same abilities in arundel but maybe truner wants too much and arundel is a cheaper option

I have heard he has gone - will be Saints left centre next year. Shame really, I think if he had shown this seasons form last year then he would have had a contract waiting for him

After all the development we have put into him to lose him now would be annoying.

This is the issue for us at the minute, I was expecting 3/4 players out and 3/4 players in. However we are now faced with losing Manu, Turner, Briscoe, Ogre, Moa, McKinnon and they will take some replacing no matter how much money we have.

The likes of Pitts, Arundel and Crookes (rumours only I know) just don't cut it as replacements.

Spot on. Until the club make a statement nothing has changed.

Though the way some are going on you'd think the club was crumbling around our ears.
