ahead of monday's game many Hull FC fans pointed out that the team would be more knackered than the giants because of the Good friday games + the Giants having the luxury of player rotation.

Given that tired players are more error / penalty prone it is possible that Hull would fair worse than the Giants.

Oh I expected us to be a little worse through fatigue. But 6 times worse? More importantly, no matter how fresh the Giants were it's difficult to believe that they didn't stray offside even once.

I've seen Child do this one-sided refereeing many times before, and as a neutral as well as an interested party.

If we had put that team out last yr u wud hve put 40 pts by us in the first half. Just shows what difference a new coach makes. Gentle knows what hes doing even with only half a team. It will be different on Sunday

Just to add to this thread. Before the game on Sunday we were averaging 7.8 penalties per game and Hudds were averaging 7 penalties per game.

Ignoring the 2 token penalties we got in the last 30 seconds of the game then according to the moron in the middle we were 53% more indisciplined than normal and Hudds were 72% more disciplined than usual.

Sounds likely...

The only plauisible explanation is Hull players being fatigued, so they crept forward, had arms go high in the tackle and couldn't get square.

Hudds players, being fatigued obviously tried to conserve energy by not moving forwards, keeping their arms low, and staying square.

East hull fan - Can I ask you whether you thought giants were capable of winning anything in the last three seasons?

I don't think so. My honest assessment of the giants is that they are a group of players, pretty much all of whom play at or near their best on a regular basis, who are well coached and have good defensive technique and some pace in the backs. Pretty much every big game you've played in the last 3 years you've lost. wire, wigan, leeds, cats and probably saints have better players than the giants but not all are as well coached. They do have more game breakers who have the experience and ability to turn it on when it matters.

brown has done an excellent job at hudds but I think he knows he will never win anything with you, hence his desire to move on for some time now. The most impressive thing about him is he picks up players that either no one else really wants (brough, brown, lee etc) or players from the lower leagues, and has a great ability to gel them into an effective and cohesive unit.
