Biggest difference for me was the half back pairings. Leuluai and Chase both looked dangerous with the ball in hand and gave their outside backs plenty of quality ball whereas Sinfield and Myler never!

A 3 game series would be good if only to give the form players like Griffin, Brown, Lomax, Farrell, Yeaman and Welham a chance to show their international credentials.

I like Sinfield far more then O'Loughlin, just not at SO. Robinson and Tomkins first bench spots.

a very tough close game in which the exiles deserved to win but for me i dint think england were that bad with a change at halfback we should be a better side and add to that burgess,ellis and widdop its looks ok to me.
great concept and hopefully it will turn into a 3 game series potnetially this could turn into something pretty good i feel

anyway after watching tonight and with other player to come i feel this is england strongest team with the centres been hard to choose

great support player but not a creative player and really struggled tonight because he had sinfield playing alongside him who isnt a 6 and we had no one who could control the game

Shenton and Atkins are both dire....Shenton is vastly over-rated and Atkins is a turnstile...Brown was out of his depth last yr at this level.

Looks exactly like Danny McGuire has done for most of his career, I've never seen the big fuss over him either. Not as an international at least. Both are just glorified poachers.

so who do you pick at centres then i agree its certainly an area we need a couple of player to really stand out and be automatic picks but we havent got that weve got the likes of shenton,akins,yeamen,welham,cudjoe ect who are all very good super league players but not great at international. as for brown well that was his first taste of international last year and to be fair the whole team where poor but i reckon he and brough can create a good partnership for england.

agree i this moment myler should be well down the pecking order regarding international but tonight was hard for him given that his best asset is his support play and with the lack or creative and orginsing players it was hard for myler to stand out

TBF, don't those 3 have less than half a dozen 'proper' international appearances between then, and in Welham's case none?

i have you watched the nrl m8 ?, atmosphere was poor but expected given no away fans and its not club footy but what the game needed was a bigger venue with a bigger crowd and the format works very well

With a 1,6,7 combo of Tomkins, Widdop and Brough selecting a player such as Sinfield or O'Loughlin would be pointless.

i know what your saying and i actually think that 2 of those players should have played tonight to see wether there are good enough but if those players mentioned were classy players then they are automatic picks but there not

Atkins has always been over-rated, never understood any of his hype. Shenton played well for England last year IMO, but still don't think he;s good enough.

Centres should have been Bridge and Yeaman tonight. How a coach can deny a top try scorer who is with a team in 8th place is beyond me.

Well that's one of the many problems we have at the minute, we don't really have any 'classy' outside backs, nor have we had for a while. In fact we don't really have many 'classy' players in many positions. What's really wrong though is that the selection policy seems to be 'when in doubt, go with the top 4 option'.

well will things change at hull no so why dont we just say sod all to it and not bother
