Hall had a good game tonight:

1. Only jumped out of the line once (late on) although that is still a worry
2. Defended strongly (probably because he didn't get out of position)
3. Ran the ball back strongly when fielding kicks
4. As mentioned by someone else made a very good effort to prevent the try down the left when Long had jumped out of the line
5. Took his tries well - his second showing that there is no substitute for pace (Something that just cannot be taught - otherwise Whiting would be playing for England)

Just needs to keep it up next time.

Main issue for me is next time might be in 4 weeks playing right wing. Does Craig no good at all playing on the right hand side and not playing regularly.

has to be Hall doesnt it. The problem is that doesnt help his development.

I know it wont happen but how about Hall left wing, Briscoe left centre and Yeamo to the back row?

Regular rugby would always benefit him. Sadly he is needed for cover so we wont do that. Could we use him as a dual contract rather than commiting to allowing him to go for a minumum of 4 weeks?

Dual would be a good idea, would benefit both parties...there would have to be a clause that he would be returned at the drop of a hat for injuries etc...
He is the type of offensive player you could do with in the play-offs no doubts there, with the right service he will find the line, though he needs confidence & experience which he can gain will a regular shirt, Agar must be considering it as it worked for both parties last season.

The problem for Hall now is that there are too many players ahead of him to get regular rugby IMO. Whiting got opportunities early in the season and was in our top 3 players regularly. Yeaman is a permanent fixture and has been awarded a new 3 year deal, Briscoe's an international. If Calderwood was fit, the back line would be Calders, Yeaman and Briscoe with Whiting, Turner and Hall fighting for the last spot. Whiting has the runs on the board this season and Turner was outstanding last night. Hall played well, credit to him. I'm just not sure how he can force his way into the regular rugby he needs.

Did I misinterpret it,or did some people boo Hall when he missed the conversion?
If so it is bloody disgraceful.

Good game from Hall. Good job he wasn't playing instead of whiting last week or he'd have been castigated for letting meli score 4 tries down his wing

The booing was ironic and Craig knew it as he was laughing.

Hall did a cracking job tonight, defended well with some big shots and took his tries well. Shot out of the line once and although the ball never came out wide he did close down the passing options.

Hall is a good defender he just needs to make better decisions.

Really pleased that Hall showed up well last night. Maybe he can get his head together and kick on after all. The worry is that as pointed out by others he could be struggling for regular first-team action given the form of others competing for the same positions and that isn't going to help him.

Would have done him good getting that ovation as he ran back down the west touchline after missing the kick. Was good to see most of the fans get behind him last night.

Thought Hall had one of his better games last night. Did little wrong and took his tries well. Before getting too carried away, it's worth pointing out that Salford asked very few questions of us defensively last night, but it was certainly an improved showing.

I'm not his biggest fan but I think he has some potential and took his tries well last night, couple of s in front of me were having ago before he'd even touched the ball. I'd happily keep him at the club if can perform to that standard each week.

Showed all of his strengths with ball in hand last night - excellent finishing. Also showed if he picks the right man to tackle he can make that tackle.

He's always been able to tackle, although his stature means he'll never put in monster hits on a regular basis. As you say his problem has been being out of position or picking the wrong target. Maybe it's finally starting to sink in?
