| Quote ="frepneyboy"Agree on this bit, as for AP spending ability, he made £10mill when he sold City, had cash prior to that too. We dont really need £10mill spending on us do we?'"
I honestly have no idea how much cash AP has in the bank, nor how much of that he's willing to spend on us. Depending on just how bad the situation was then the bill required to not only get us up to speed but also challenging might be larger than you'd think once you roll in facilities upgrades etc.
Either way AP doesn't strike me as someone willing to just treat a sport club as an ego boosting hobby and throw cash at it forever. He takes this seriously and will want to get the club on a sound financial footing and as independent of his personal financial input as possible. Which I reckon is a good thing. If all goes to plan we could end up with the best of both worlds.
Quote ="frepneyboy"As for your first paragragh, dont let the profit blind you, that board were taking vast amounts of cash from the club, yes all done on the cheap on the rugby side. It's a shame that only Rule got punished (yes i know for something else, but it feels nice he got in deep cack for running us so badly)'"
I remain to be convinced about how much cash the old BOD were making out of the club, simply because the abbreviated accounts don't show anything. I realise that there are ways to funnel money out of companies on the QT but without more evidence I'm reluctant to jump to conclusions.
What [iis[/i abundantly clear is that they weren't putting much (if any) cash [iin[/i. Which has a similar end result.

| His enthusiasm, arrogance and business acumen is no doubt good for Hull FC and RL. Reminds me of a young Maurice Lindsay in the way he goes about his business.
He's playing a very risky game by publically slating Seymour, he's either trying to force him out or already has done-but have a bit of class when doing so. He 'll give Hull FC a bad rep for how they treat players by letting his enthusiasm do the talking.
He brings more posiives, can only be good for RL to have a strong Hull side.

Maybe they've already had the discussion with seymour and he's agreed to a move

That's the conclusion I've drawn from it. Pearson wouldn't make such a big thing about signing two half backs if he wasn't certain he had the space in the squad.
The interesting thing for me is if Seymour goes home, or is he part of any swap deal?.

I agree with that. Pearson is passionate about FC, & it looked like his frustration got the better of him. At least his passion will hopefully take the club to where we want it to be.
It will be interesting to see what sort of reaction we get tomorrow from certain players.

| I do think we'll see the effect of pearson's comments tomorrow night. Unfortunately I think it will be a negative and we will get seriously battered and probably looking at 40 points against us at least.

You reckon? one win in 8 games, coming off the back of a big loss in France with a serious injury list added to 3 palyers gone from our original roster. Potentially foster and turner as a centre/wing partnership. Add in the public criticism of the squad by our owner plus the fact plenty of them won't be here next season.
rovers, on the other hand, have had a week off, have 4 players returning from injury and have more motivation than us. THey've lost some games recently but only by fairly small margins and have been in much better form than us
Can't see anything other than an easy rovers win. Hope I'm wrong but I rarely am

He doesn't actually have to improve. All he has to do is deliver what he's already shown he's capable of more consistently and you've got an England international player there.

| were only going on what is said in a public interview, we have no idea what is said to players behind closed doors, he could be telling the likes of your houghtons, briscoes, and yeaman that there part of the FC future so what he says doesnt apply to them. thats been said i think its great how much passion he has for the club.
As for people not rating jay pitts, Gentle said that his forwards need to compliment each other, pitts is caple of doing things that neither watts or lynch can do so i can see him getting a place in the 17 against some teams but then been taken out when the game plan changes

| Saints, leeds bradford and wigan have all won grand finals, but with teams were built over time. One thing they had in common was a fair share of homegrown players in key positions.
Pearson seems to be very much from the ''sign as many top players in the key positions within the salary cap as we can'' school. This strategy does not bring long term success. It doesn't always bring success.
Leeds did something similiar at the start of super league. They basically signed up an entire team in 97 and won the CC in 99........It was then 8 years later before they had a team consistently successful.
By all means buy into everything 'the messiah' pearson says, but don't be naive enough to think it's going to guarantee much success happiness and giggles, because it dosn't work like that.

I suggest before you comment you know what you are taking about, Pearson has spoken many times about the importance of the youth system.
The first thing he did when he took over was sort out the youth structure at the club.
I love all the hate from Leeds fans for our ambitious owner.

You clearly have selected hearing and you have obviously failed to hear Pearsons numerous comments and references to our youth structure since he has taken over the club, he is very clear about how poor it was and he is investing and addressing this area.

Rovers are certainly sh*t but we have a squad that is completely uninterested and demotivated.
Unfortunately, most of the quality that we do have is stuck in the treatment room.
I can't see past a very easy rovers win and a pretty embarrassing night to forget.

Actually, pearson has continually said that our yout development isn't good enough and has invested a significant sum into improving it. He has also said that we need to fill the gap with some quality younger players until the investment strts to bear fruit.
Did finch, leuluia, lima etc come through wigan's youth set up?

Its not all about the embargo on out of contract players if a player in contract next year is signed for a fee they could announce it when the deal is done but they won't I don't think because I think they are saving it all for the release of season tickets which is lets face it good marketing! I can't see us finding much out at all until then!
