| Quote ="GrahamBray"Some perspective is needed here , though.
Several of those lads shone against experienced campaigners, which will have done their confidence, and the coach's, a lot of good.
Brad Fash played and was very impressive, hardly a pointless exercise and also a nod to the guy who dropped a rather vital goal, at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in 2005, I think it was, although, due to reasons which I am sure you'll appreciate, I have little memory of.'"
The days of picking mainly first teamers for friendlies is long gone in the modern pro game as most of the work tends to be done in pre season nowadays. In the past preseasons were much shorter and players needed the friendlies.
Now friendlies tend to be more for getting to see the fringe players & giving promising youngsters an opportunity to showcase themselves.
I also don't think the really wet heavy pitches are much help or gives any benefit for players you'd class as being in the regular match day 17. Plus not having home friendlies is a factor I believe as if we had one or two at the KC then I'd imaging we'd see more 1st team players to help attract more paying fans.

He surely won't risk any hamstrings or even slight niggles for this, however much we'd like to see it. Watched the Bradford highlights on Youtube last night, the boys did well, plenty of enthusiasm and Fash stood out, scored an excellent try and a really good dig from him, Ligi Sao was on the pitch for about 2 minutes on the clip, please don't report back he's injured!!

I think Bradford will put the full game on YouTube. They did for the Batley friendly

| Quite a few pics of the pre season camp on the club's website - Reynolds, Satae, Griffin all involved. Obviously no Tag, but also couldn't see Gale? ![Confused icon_confused.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_confused.gif)

| Tag was there (with his boot on) as was some else I didn't recognise (maybe Shaul?)
Not Shaul. The pics are now on the club website, pretty sure Gale is on just one of those pics.

Looks like the other player with a boot on is young Hookem. There's definitely 1 photo that you can see Gale in on the club website and 1 of back of him going on the lime green boots & black sock combo, I'm channelling my inner Miss Marple or should I say Columbo
Got to say that Satae looks to be in great shape.

To be honest they all seem to look in better shape than previous seasons.

Looks like it's been a good few days away.
On another topic Reynolds not back in full contact training yet so would be surprised if he makes round 1. Do we know where Gale is fitnesswise?'"
Looks like Gale is good to go. Took part in the captains run yesterday, and is playing against London today.
Hopefully Reynolds is good to go against wakey, glad the club are being cautious with him though.
I feel more confident going into the season with Connor, Gale, Lovodua, Houghton and McNamara as opposed to Sneyd, Connor, Houghton, McNamara

| 26-0 win in a "scrimmage" game against London.
Tries to Griffin, Tuimavave, Savelio, Lovodua and Barron. Three goals for Gale.

| Really good camp from what I hear, with just the injury to Manu Mau putting a damper on it.
Not sure about the hype around an opposed training session though. London think they are just having a competitive training session and Hull post all over social media that you've billed them. Bit disrespectful if you ask me and there must be other ways to develop a feel good factor at Hull.
I'd have just kept it all in-house and then turned up ready to play at Leeds. Beating them will give you a genuine feel good factor, not a contrived one. Just my opinion.

Not sure where all this “hype” is coming from. Hardly anyone posts on here, I posted a topic about Johnny Whiteley being in hospital, no one replied!! The club released a lot of photos from that training session but also issue photos for the daily training sessions from the Loughborough camp. As always, your just on here trolling. You could have posted on the Gentleman John topic, he was your coach for a while, after all.

Not really sure what point you’re trying to make to be honest as I haven’t seen anything that you could class as hype or disrespectful?
Hull FC have used their social media to keep their fans informed during their 4 days training break. They’ve then given info on the game against London and stated it was a scrimmage match & training game. Then simply reported the scores during the game & at full time. How is any of that in anyway disrespectful? Or are you saying the club shouldn’t mention anything at all until the season starts?
Or would you also say the Rovers last game in their prep and the info given to its fans on that game was also disrespectful? Is the victory in game just contrived to give a feel good factor too?

I think pre season is usually pretty quiet mate, to be honest, and after the last two deflated years especially, the covid spectre has really tempered enthusiasm.
regarding our greatest Johnny Whiteley injury, I’m sure everyone is hoping Johnny makes a speedy recovery, you actually said eloquently in your post all that could be said.
But I will say the news of Hull City takeover could have massive reverberations for all involved, and even that subject only slightly captured the imagination, imagine if the Turkish owner, and a consortium led by AP could buy the stadium for both clubs, maybe the council could bend over backwards to help it happen like the mysterious sale of Caravan Park “that’s for R.B.A.” ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

Ge definitely knows people who works at both clubs, the hype comment is nonsense though, apart from during the game they have hardly mentioned it.
