I agree; shoulder charging should be illegal. Yes it looks great but it ain't a tackle. Strangley enough the first time I played league someone did it to me; I, being brought up union, stood up and chinned him and was promptly sent off for my trouble.

I agree and having seen it again i think the player should be repremanded for his technique on this occasion. There was absolutely no attempt to tackle the player and an uncontrolled shoulder charge has no place in the game imho. It may look good from the terraces but players careers could be ended as a result of such 'tackles'. The game is tough enough as it is.

99/100 that's just a regulation shoulder charge that forces a knock on, Burgess was unlucky that the impact forced his head forward, nothing wrong with the hit - it's a mans game and hits like that are fine, in fact there's a number of FC players who do the same hits a lot. It was a controlled charge, unlike what you say and the fact you think there should be a punishment shows a basic lack of knowledge of the rules and the actual tackle. Even Leeds fans don't have a problem with the actual tackle.

Now come on.... no ones as butt ugly as Fozzard even Sloth from the Goonies is better looking lol

What made me laugh is he got a photo took just after it happened in the ambulance and now he's providing us with pics on his recovery, good on the kid for getting on with it and hope he gets well soon.
He made a good point on his Twitter page saying he had well over 300 get well soon messeges from all fans from different clubs, just goes to sure that rugby league has the best fans EVER in the world...FACT!

Shoulder charges are never fully controlled but they are part of the game. They are illegal or not and right now they are legal and most fans around the world like to see them.

TBF most fans around the world like to see the rugby. If you wanna see that sort of thing go watch WWE. How would you have felt had there been even more damage to Burgess. The game is brutal enough as it is without this sort of thing. There was no attempt to tackle Burgess and i disagree shoulder charges can be controlled. This one wasn't.

I agree with you, I'm a Leeds fan and have no problem with Walkers hit as it was legal and the injury was purely accidental but shoulder challenges require zero skill and do not add to the game.

Most big hits comes from someone putting a shoulder in, tyring to take that out of the game would prove very difficult. Like Barrie Mac said you could see 100 of those hits and only one might result in an injury. Big hits and brutality are part of our game, it's why people love it so much. No one likes to see injuries but they are part and parcel of RL.
