| For me this isn't great business by us- next season is vitally important for the club in reigniting fans' passion and with the prospect of multiple relegations, we simply have to get it right. We now have two pivots , well over 30 and who have appalling injury records, Gale admittedly only last year but Reynolds' is far longer and for sustained lengths at a time. I'd rather have Sneyd playing more often than not than Gale playing well for 2 games then missing chunks of the season, add to that Reynolds and his misfortune and we could be playing loads of games with reserve halves to lead us. This isn't shrewd at all by us in my opinion, it has got the potential to be I'll admit, but how many players at their ages improve fitness and injury records? I honestly hope they prove me wrong but if I was betting on it, I know where my money would be placed.

I think to be fair when you look at the squad, the performances over the past couple of seasons then changes have been needed. We often get into the oppositions 20 but then flatter to deceive and fail to get pts on the scoreboard and Gale will certainly improve us in that area as he has a much better running and short kicking game than Sneyd. Gales injury record is a concern but the club seem to have taken that into account with only an initial year deal. Yes it could be a gamble but we’ve asked for change and AP & BH have done well considering the contract situations. I’d rather have Gale for a year with tine to look for a top replacement for 2023 rather rush it fit the sake of it.
Injury record aside Gale certainly improves us over Sneyd.
Sneyd has been a great servant for the club and will remain in the history books of being one of the immortals. I’m pleased we seem to be more pragmatic in our approach rather than sentimental.

You really believe that this has all come about because supporters asked for change?

Gale was also injured long term for 2 seasons out of his last 3 at Cas, before joining us (Leeds)
He was great for us in 2020 though but then missed so much of 2021 with 3 bad injuries (torn pec in pre season, then broken thumb then medial knee injury finished him off) inbetween those injuries he had 2 suspensions and then the training ground fall out with Agar that saw him stripped of the captaincy.
IF you get the Gale of 2020 he will be great for you and offer everything that you didn’t get with Sneyd..but if you get the 2021 version...

No and that’s not what I was meaning. What I was meaning was fans have been asking for change and now we have changes so as fans we have got what we’ve been asking/wanting. ATEOTD the clubs need the backing of fans and no doubt the club are aware that fans weren’t happy with performances not the owner or coach so needed to act to improve.

| You could argue that two of the biggest earning high profile players who were not performing last year where Fonua & Sneyd - moving both on is great business, ruthless and without sentiment which is what we've been asking for for ages.
I said when we signed Lovadua and Evans that nothing would change at the club and to still expect the same play next season and a finishing position of 8th-9th but with the signing of Gale I'm excited to see that our same old same old boring play is gonna change. We all know it's a risk but I doubt Reynolds will have as bad a season as his first and now with Gale I feel much more optimistic moving forward

Hasn’t played since doing his knee in August against Leigh but Agar confirmed the other day that all our players would be back and ready to start pre season training later this month...apart from Liam Sutcliffe

| “I had the first running session on Monday (5 weeks ago now) - straight line, probably 60 per cent - and everything felt great, no bother.
"I ramped it up [yesterday - 70-80 per cent straight line running - ad it all felt sweet.
I’ll have to see how it reacts, but hopefully everything is a-okay.”

When was this confirmed, as far as I’m aware, it’s 3 down 1 up. I read something about Super League clubs not being happy about it (obviously) and something else about a playoff between top of Championship and the SL club finishing 3rd from bottom but nothing concrete either way.

Thanks for that but has anything been announced by RFL and SLE. Seems it’s not just FC that can be accused of PR issues.

| Does nobody think we have a new 6&7 lined up for 2023? Would make sense seeing they let sneyd move on when he had chance and only giving gale a years contract makes me think they've already got someone lined up, Reynolds contract is up aswell so do we reckon they've something in the pipeline?

| We're apparently in for Dylan Napa, but looks like Catalans lead the race currently.
As for Sneyd, clearly right move for him and family as he can get a nice pay packet nearer home. He leaves a legend. Gale I'm not so sure about but I think given the market it's a gamble we had to make.

The Australian press are linking him to Catalans, Leeds and Rovers.
