Either that or judging by the healthy sales and publicity he has garnered he might actually have played a blinder and be a bit cleverer than you give him credit for.

Not necessarily fibs. More the line of questioning by the media took him in a direction he didn't handle very well.

I don't think there will be any fallout at all from what he has said in his book. In fact, it seems it was what he said in his interview that the RFL was responding to, not what was said in the book. Longy, bless him, is a genius on the rugby field but he really should have legal counsel beside him at all times when discussing pretty much anything.
