Like Thompson, a completely pointless signing. We seem to have an obssession with very average, hard working forwards who are full of effort as long as they are young and British. It seems to be very much of secondary importance whether they're actually any good or not.

This will probably finish our 2014 recruitment (winger to be added) and for me it is just so disappointing and underwhelming that it just leaves me baffled.

We still need a big prop, we still need a line breaking backrower, we still have big question marks over our halfbacks and we still need a quality centre to replace Yeaman who will just keep getting selected no matter how poor he is.

Paea aside, I'm struggling to see anything that our recruitment has achieved apart from establishing us as a mid-table team.

On paper (I know the games not played on paper) our team is capable of more entertaining rugby next season, I would give a centre starting berth to Arundel along with B Crooks, Shaul looks likely to at least start the season at FB and with Lineham and Biggs (possibly) on the wings the back line looks an exciting prospect for 2014. Probably need more grunt up front, and still question marks in the halves, but I'm confident the product on the pitch will be better to watch.

No surprise renewals are low given last season and the appointment of Radford as coach. I expect pearson will extend the discount period but we may end up selling less than the dobbins this year as they'll do more on the back of their new stand and better recruitment

I very much doubt that. The same dobbins that have lost their most influential player by far and if you didn't notice also had a very poor end to the season without doing much beforehand. Plus limpdick is still their coach. Hull's sales may go down, but so will the dobbins and there will remain a large gap between them.

It's irrelevant anyway but I was just pointing out how low ours could be. I'd expect around 6k which is a massive drop on what we were doing 3 or 4 years ago

6K - 6.5K will be somewhere near to the final figure. A shocking number of season passes for a club of our size but very understandable given the disillusionment among many fans.

Two seasons of very poor recruitment since AP's Churchillianesque speeches and now a head coach and coaching set-up to match.

On the bright side, we could be involved in a very exciting battle for the 8th spot which could even go to the last game of the 2014 season.
