Its just constant drivel. If he was connected to the club in a meaningful way, he wouldn't post who we were signing, and fair play. All of the posts are either an elaborate plan by the club to spread misinformation, or just self important cack.

As regards this 31 year old Aussie, I am utterly underwhelmed. Would have rather kept on Phelps for another year to see how he goes.

agree, i too will be underwhelmed by us signing an ageing aussie with a history of injuries who i havent heard of! I know Phelps hasnt blown us away but he hasnt done much wrong..would rather spend our cash elsewhere....would welcome young Ellis though.

He's younger than Brett Hodgson so are you saying you wouldnt have him in your squad if your just going on an age thing? Also isnt he fit again?

What I've seen of McKinnon I think he's a good player , it's just the 3 years I'm worried about if true . Would only give 3 years to players under the age of 30 , but if he doesn't count on the qouta it's an added bonus to . Gives us more chance to balance the squad for next season . Maybe the 3rd year is also optional , on appearances or both party's to agree etc .

You're trying to compare McKinnon to Hodgson? Hodgson has a terrific injury record, has been a prolific pointscorer for every club he's been at, and been selected to play State of Origin. The ONLY excuse for signing players of this age, is if they're proven quality AND have an impeccable injury record.

i wasnt trying to compare them in a way. Would you say he wouldnt be a good addition to the squad? I dont know ive never seen him play just clips of him. Alot of people just see the age thing then slag the club off

I can't see us keeping both, pointless having two fullbacks. We have additional cover for centre and wing so if McKinnon signs then there is no room for Phelps.

Imo McKinnon is a better player than Phelps no question, would be happy with a 2 year deal, 3 years would be too excessive.

Alot of people seem to be saying they feel underwhelmed by the signing of Wade if it comes off, but wasn't alot of people saying thaty about Obst and Phelps.

I agree 3 years sounds excessive (if its true), however should we not give Agar the benefit of the doubt on this if he does sign him as he has already proven he can sign the right players that complement the squad which is what its all about rather than thier stature in the game.

I think it's more the fact were giving a three year deal to a 30 year old player (31 in feb) who's had a knee reconstruction and has dodgy hamstrings.

McKinnon is a good player and better than Phelps imo but I'm hoping if we have signed him we've only given him a 2yr contract not a 3yr. It is a worry that he's missed a lot of rugby through injury but lets hope that's behind him.
