You are not wrong Manu will be canonised and will be St Willie - for services to FC... sure that anybody from St Helens will be welcome for standing outside the the packed ground when he is canonised BUT that will be many years from now. Until then please feel free to pop down the M62 and watch him in the flesh

Anybody else worried that we might be letting Manu test himself on the open market? Basically saying 'this is what we'll offer, go and find better if you can'? He's the only OOC player being offered a new deal this early and is probably the most expensive to retain.

But if Manu himself wants to test his value and is getting indirect approaches anyway, best sort it now IMO, even if it's not the result we want. We then have his salary to spend at a time when we're on the front foot recruitment wise. Would be awful to lose him. He's a fantastic player and not replaceable like for like in the competition IMO, maybe with the exception of an on form Puletua. Hoping against hope that he stays.

I see your point, but AP and co. seem to have the attitude that players should want to play for [ius[/i. Obviously they'd prefer Manu to stay I'm sure, but won't pay any more than he's worth (which is still a lot mind!).
I also agree that there's no other like for like replacement, but I don't think a Tickle/Manu 2nd row is any better than a Tickle/Ellis combo IMO.

surley brown will be raiding his current squad to bolster saints ranks next season as he see's the giants as title contenders with their big powerful forwards who could carry the whole of SL on one players back alone!!

I would guess that he will be calling at the Galpharm when he's looking to improve Saints.

I've just caught up with the latest rumour that Manu is coming to Saints....is there any truth in this whatsoever?

None of us had heard of it until a Saints fan mentioned it so I doubt that there's anything in it. Just seems like wishful thinking on that posters behalf, or a very poor trolling attempt. The same poster also said that you were going for Danny Tickle.

You will know that nothing has been decided with Manu as yet, I liken it to the Tickle situation last season. He wants to stay but it's his last contract so wants to get the best he can. If that's away from Hull I think he will leave but nothing's settled.

Seems he's talking to a few clubs as fans from more then one SL club are getting a little jumpy.

Shuddersfield, St Helens and erm.................................Hull KR. I would put money on him staying at Hull FC though but I'd love to see him run out in a Red n White shirt.

Im just wondering if the club knew that they had a chance of losing Manu next year, hence they have gone out and signed Ellis. At the moment he is playing mainly 80 mins for us, with the arrival of Ellis will he still get the same amount of game time, unless we move Tickle to prop as some people on here are suggesting. I hope he does stay but he might want a longer contract and the prospect of playing the full 80.

As good as Manu is he's not a patch on Ellis.

Offers a lot more to hull, we have workhorses, we have no one like Manu, who is our best attacking player.

Will be on lot less money and never gets injured.

Personally I rather have manu, hopefully we will have both.

I agree you can tell teams see Manu as a genuine threat and number up on him, to lose him would be a massive mistake
