| I think the club need reminding that HISA is not just "Hutchie" its an independant supporters group that, whether you beleive it or not, had a strong influence on the club through the views of its members at the turn of the century.
They might want reminding that HISA sponsored the match ball for a game, and raffled the VIP places off to its members so that "normal" fans could savour that experience, which many will not experience now due to the inflated prices. The committee and my dad were heavily involved in arranging Lee Jacksons testimonial, like hutchie stated, the club were not interested in helping out a player that the city produced and ended up having a successful stint in the NRL and a GB international.
They always sponsored end of season trophies, gave fans the opportunity to meet the players at quiz nights and forums in an informal setting, unlike what the FC voices group have. HISA recognised the achievements of former players with honoury memberships and gave leaving presents to players such as Tony Grimaldi, David Maiden and Luke Felsch, players who helped us to become the club we are today and gave us, as fans, the belief that we were getting back to where we rightfully should be.
And i wont list the amount of times the commitee met with Shane Richardson and Adam Pearson about the stadium, addressing FC fans concerns and relaying the answers back to the fans.
Or how about the club asking HISA to walk round the pitch at Headingley with a "sorry" banner after the McAlpine incident, only for Gary H to cancel it due to safety concerns.
HISA is missed in my opinion and should it recapture its old memebership numbers then i think the club would be wrong to ignore it

Well start it up again then Hutchie has said that all the stuff is still in place all it needs is a Chairman and Committee. Hisa when it was 'your dad', Steve Roberts and a few others saved our club by persuding the Gateshead board to merge with us. That is a fact. The group could do great things again but it needs deeds not words, oh and some members too1!

But then again they do meet with the disabled supporters group regularly, so that i guess is contrary to what they said.
To be honest, its the SMC that meets with us regularly. In the 3 years or so that the disabled group has been running we have met with James Rule once. I am on FC Voices as a representative of the disabled group and through me is how the disabled group communicate with the club.

| "New chief executive Ivan Gazidis has made a good impression and says he values our role and the importance of custodianship"
The above is a qoute made today by the Arsenal Supporters Trust in relation to Arsenal Chief Exec Ivan Gazidis.......maybe our Chief exec could learn a thing or two from this one qoute....in particular the last three words?!?!?!

| i dont mean to sound ill informed, but, why starting hisa up, do fans think it is going to be an outlet or an inlet for communicating with hull fc?
Hull fc alread to talk to an organisation, all be it set up by hull fc, In fc voices the communication is already there, maybe it needs more member or a bigger voice, but cant fans pressure hull fc using fc voices rather than starting up hisa again as they are not going to have any communication with fc? (this is not a rant im just unsire what starting hisa back up will achieve)?

Fair points and i'm not advocating the setting up of HISA as such, i just feel we need some sort of supporters organisation to enable us to post an objective view on things, i'm not confident that FC voices are the vehicle for this.
In my opinion such an organisation should be on the go despte the vortunes of the club, most if not all football clubs have supporters associations.

Like i say maybe more pressure needs putting on the club from fc voices and more meetings? but its upto the fans to pose the questions to the voices members

FC Voices is a vehicle set up by the club so that they can be controlled how they see fit. HISA on the other hand is, or was, completely independant and would make themselves heard one way or another.

but as it is controlled by the board they can control what they say, or what they listen to.
Back in HISA's day they got into the local media, produced newsletters, and had the fanzine as media outlets to get the fans to take a stand, and it would need something similar again.
I dont actually know what people are so upset about tbh (beating Salford away with £1 million worth of salary cap not playing) is a pretty good effort in my book!!

Not strictly true that, is it? And rather disrespectful of the people on FC Voices who are giving up their own time to do something to at least [itry[/i and address the issue of communication with the board.
And HISA only has as much power as the fans are willing to give it. On current evidence that's the square root of f'kall. There's hardly been a rush of folk willing to take up Hutchie's offer to take over HISA, has there?
Much easier to just stand on the sidelines and snipe at people who have at least got off their backsides and done [isomething.[/i

I'm not a member, but I've been involved with organisations that do a similar job in other fields and I know how it goes. I also know how hard it is when you are an unpaid volunteer group with little backing from your supposed support base trying to do the best you can in meetings with a larger organisation.
FC Voices ask the questions that fans send to them. If the fans don't want to engage with them then their usefulness is limited. HISA has the same trouble - it only has as much power as fans are willing to give it. There's nothing magic about the name or the organisation as such.
And if you want to know what happens at FC Voices meetings, why not ask them? Their names are hardly secret and many of them post on here. Despite what you seem to think, the members are just fans who want to do something for the rest of us - and who have actually succeeded in changing things for the better in a number of cases.

i dont think anything mate, im just trying to get a balanced veiwpoint of what goes on, im not even having ago at the members. im in favour of fc voices and would rather things went through there than having to set up an independant org. Im not an fc hater or a board hater, im just trying to understand why people are moaning so much lol
