There are many more. I did not think it was a good signing then and feel vindicated.

If anyone wants to pass my details onto Cath i am quite happy to act as an unpaid consultant on future signings.

I posted on Monday he was out for two weeks. Disappointing to get Horne back and lose Long but at least we have Obst as cover.

Feel 'vindicated' when his contract is finished, not half way through it.

Long has not been a good signing but IIRC we signed him when our number one target Orford was stalling on us, so it could have been worse, we could have signed Orford!

We all knew Long was only supposed to be a stop gap for two seasons so the club should have been looking for his replacement as soon as we signed him.

Yeh, I think there will be a big half signing next season, probably confirmed May/June time.

I hope for that too but Eastmond going to union means we now have Saints to compete with.

Personally I think the sooner people get this out of their heads the better, hull won't sign a top half we will be beaten to it by the likes of st helens etc and also with the NRL money going up there is even less of a chance of it happening.

Possibly,as saints will need 2 halfs,as pryce is ooc,and rumoured to be leaving.

Long has been disapointting with his injuries, he was always going to be a risk, but we didn't have many options for recruitment in that position.

However if Long wasn't with us last year, we wouldn't have finished in the playoff IMO, there are 4/5 games last year we would have got beat if he didn't play.

Just think how bad a player someone like Thurston would have become under Agar's coaching.As for Long supposedly re writing the attacking playbook, was he using Plummer's pen?

Not a chance, Hull fans (not particually aimed at you) obsession with signing big name halfbacks is a joke considering how rare they are, I cant see a top established 7 coming to SL anyway, if for some reason a player fitting that criteria became available he would be Saints bound, personally Id look for a young Aussie but again visa issues could be a problem. Makes it more baffling why we didnt take a chance on Moore this season.

Horne will get a new contract and Obst will still be here and I wouldnt rule out a one year deal for Long considering the lack of options, possibly a coaching/playing deal, not sure what other options we have, Another attempt at signing Sammutt is a possibility and looks the most likely, Chase is out of our league, depending on Wires recruitment they would possibly listen to offers for Myler again? although hes made it clear he dosnt want to play for Hull. Huddersfield seem to have a few very talented young halfs and dummy halfs on there books, with Brown and Brough first choice maybe they would take a fee for Robinson if we were willing, that looks unlikely though he is on a long contract and I would expect they would want to keep him, not many options in my opinion.

Disagree, I think with the amount of money we will have available next season we will bring in a top aussi half. I never said we would this season, because it simply wasn't viable with our cap/quota, but for next season I am hopeful.

Nope. Spoke to him at training on Tuesday. Had a face like a smacked and when I asked how he was he said he "wasn't bad". Looked gutted not to be fully training with everyone.

I expect there'll be another rumour next week.

I meant next season, what about Saints and the clubs that usually out bid us? The fact is that top class Aussie halves don't come over here as rule unless they are at the end of there careers, the only one in there prime in recent years is Monaghan, and he was playing hooker at the time and it was Wire for who money is no object, due to the tax laws changing it will be harder then ever, plus there isn't exactly a surplus of quality halves in the NRl at the moment, looking at it sensibly I'd say the chances of a 'top class' established Aussie 7 signing are slim to none, talk of Cronk is stupid.
