Would be dangerous to rule out a player becuase of the circumstances he has found himself in, Afterall if Long was that good would Wigan have ever released him? same goes for Brough when released by Wakey as a youngster, we had Westerman on the books as a very young kid and seemingly passed up the chance to sign him, there are loads of examples of how players and circumstances change.

You could compare Moore to Danny Nicklas and say that Moore is the better player becuase he was rated higher then Nicklas was at the same age due to his representitive selections but it dosnt work like that, Nicklas could turn out to be a better player, Richard Horne was pretty much overlooked as a youngster at junior international level but tore SL up at 17, players develop at different rates and are often not given the chances or time needed to develop.

At the end of the day Moore looks to be developing in to real talent, even if he is only playing at Batley the standard of the championship is much stronger the the 20s and he was tearig it up last season, it would be a gamble on a kid who has not performed at SL level but with real quality options not looking available, rather then signing an established utility or stop gap, Id take a gamble on Moore and go with him as cover for Long, and Nicklas to cover Horne, both there prefered positions.
