Your evidence ?

Would you say that the signing of Kearney turned out to be worth it?
Plus he has an option for it to be extended if things work out.

| Underwhelmed. A steady backrower who's very good at kicking goals, don't we already have one of those? Also past his prime as others have said.
FTAO Hull FC: the team needs a scrum half, a fullback, an explosive prop, and if room as well, maybe a centre. Signing players other than these is just a futile exercise.

No we have a backrower who's very good at kicking goals and is a liability otherwise.
TBF we desperately need leadership and a goalkicker, this addresses both, it's not as if it's instead of a scrum half -we still have the cap to sign one as well.
Don't see a problem with his age, we are lacking in leadership and to be honest we are unlikely to find it domestically so it has to be from an overseas signing.

Maybe on current form, but Tickle has previously shown that he can be a very good player so I don't see the need to import someone to do a similar job.
I also don't see why we couldn't find a player in a position we need to provide leadership. Just seems a signing for the sake of it to me, almost as if the club have felt they had to sign a big name ASAP after losing out on Crocker. It's just another move that raises more questions than it provides assurances that we're heading in the right direction.

| Not "dissing" Tickle, just a fact that in defence he is associated with far too many opposition tries and clean breaks. It's a serious weakness that needs addressing.
Our best second row has clearly been Manu while Mike Burnett has been very good IMO when on the field.

| Terrible signing. Great player, great goal kicker, another back row forward wrong side of 30.
Keep thinking Hull and one day soon you may just grasp the fact we don't need players like this.
We need a scrum half who's class, we need a fullback or stand off dependant on the plans for R. Horne and we need a pacey/powerful centre.
Get a grip Hull it's not what we require, hope he can't get a visa.

| I really cant see how Fitzgibbon is going to dramatically improve this team.
We needed size and speed to improve the forwards, Fitzgibbon brings neither.
A handy forward in his day, with a good injury record and a good goalkicker, just not the player we needed.

Difference is our a far younger and NOT at the end of their careers as FC seem to make a habit of signing theses Aussies in the Twilight of their careers.
Not only that our overseas signings have been far superior to yours.
Missing a Dobson by any chance?? Bet you would love Newton or Galea too

| I really despair with some fans!
Sign Crocker, one of the best ever 2nd rowers and it doesn't come off for us
So then, we sign Fitz, another one of the best EVER 2nd rowers and being offered a contract at his current Club in the Roosters, one of the best clubs in the world.....Still, it seems, not good enough for some fans!
Here's some of his stats off Wiki:
* Played in the 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 & 2004 Grand Finals (scored 3 tries & kicked 9 goals for 30 points)
* Won the Clive Churchill Medal in the 2002 Grand Final
* Played 8 games for New South Wales 2003-2005 (scored one try & kicked 16 goals for 36 points)
* Played 15 games for Australia 2002-2005 (scored 3 tries & kicked 39 goals for 90 points)
* Played 4 games for Country vs. City 2002, 2004, 2005 & 2006
* Craig Fitzgibbon is the highest point scoring forward (1482 points)
* Is the current captain of the Sydney Roosters
* Has played 239 first grade games (scored 39 tries & kicked 664 goals for 1484 Points)
* Has kicked over 600 goals for the Sydney Roosters
Still a bad signing and poor recruitment?!
I think not

The trouble is he is not a 'World class scrum half' who just happens to want to come to our club after dropping everything at their current home. He is a world class player and an ideal replacement for Crocker as you say, but until we have a 'world class' 7 playing for us, people will not be happy. The club have got to push the boat out to get someone, or else a lot of money will be lost.
