Great to see a British coach been given a chance.

To be honest you wont be missed, you have already written off the coach and his aasistant before they have started the job.

Give them both a chance FFS.

Just a thought, how about Lasty stayin with the 21's and Radders hanging his boots up and becoming assistant to Agar, i can see him becoming assistant at some point anyways so why not give him the option now.

The fact is who can ever remember a assistant coming into a head coach role in the situation we are in and turning it around ?

I remember a certain mr Agar coming in when Kear left and we were in an awful position.

nothing to do with players feigning injuries and skipping team meetings whilst Kear was still here.

Look right, its a terrible decision. Theres no point everyone shining a light on it saying he's British, young etc. The fact of the matter is he has no experience and coaches with very little experience rarely come good.

Were not a mickey mouse club, its a very tough business.

Look at Saints - McRae, Hanley, Millward, Anderson, Potter

That was a factor for sure, some players had made it clear they would not play for JK any longer.

RA did a good job though.

I wish him all the best, but can't help but think ££'s have influenced this decision.

and I still have doubts as to what his input has been during the decline over the last 2 years, it can't have all been Sharp's coaching.

The Saints Success is more to do with the players they have, and the fantasic youth set up they have.

What have the first three coachs mentioned done since they left Saints?

All three have another thing in commen they have been sacked from head coachs jobs since they have left Saints.

Also what of note had Hanley done as a coach before his appointment and Millward came from coaching Leigh so hardly top quality experienced NRL coaches are they.

As I said in a previous post you can either coach or you can't regardless of nationality or whether you have been an assistant or not.

I hope Rich Agar becomes a success for the club and can turn things around but lets be honest it aint gonna happen overnight or this season.

I'm thinking we should perhaps bring in an Australian director of rugby to go with this appointment...and help with recruitment.

i.e Agar picks and selects the side, and is in charge..but with an experienced coach alongside him, with the ability to attack overseas players.

Would be a good idea as long as the DOR doesn;t try to undermine the coach. Cannot see it happening as it would be anohter wage to pay.

That smacks of not being confident enough in your coach. If he's the right man for the job he's the right man for the job irrespective of his nationality.

Regardles of what they are doing now, they have all had success and (excluding Hanley) would be much happier with their appointment.

Just because your giving someone a chance doesn't mean it was the right decision.

but is he the 'name' to attract players, most British fans would struggle to name him.

I suppose hiring an Australian based scout would be alternative to my Director of Rugby option
