| There were 20500 people there tonight and the place was like a morgue. Everything about the game was dreadful. I'd be interested to see a neutrals take on it because without wanting to take anything from Rovers, (easily the better team) that was one of the worst games of Rugby I've watched in a long time. If I hadn't a vested interest in the game I wouldn't have even bothered watching the second half, because the game was all over by then.
I think everything that can be said about Radford and our performance has been said already, and I won't go over things again. I'm sure he's a nice guy, hard working, cares greatly about the club etc. But the fact is he doesn't have a clue how to coach at this level, and he certainly isn't capable of turning this situation around.
Wake up and smell the coffee Adam. No amount of hard work and waiting for a lucky break is going to turn us around. We need new ideas in the club, and we need them right now.

| How long do we have to stand rubbish like this, pathetic would be flattering for tonights performance, still there will be buffoons come on here and say give him half a season,10 matches etc, dont you understand radford built this team and if the players are ok,then the coach is a joke.Hands up all the clowns who think he's ok,right we'll start with pearson, anybody else ? We are the laughing stock of the league and us and wakey are sure to be 2 of the bottom 4,the only difference is they are a small club,we think were a big club.Shambles !!

| Before the game Sky did an analysis they called 'unlucky Hull', about all the tight losses & how we deserve to be higher. Their tune was a bit different 2nd half when they saw just how shocking our attack is. For once, Stevo got it spot on when he said that the difference was that Rovers looked to promote the ball, we just put it up the jumper.

| worst thing of all is that rovers whilst thoroughly deserving to win didn't really have to play all that well to achieve it

It's not that everything goes up the jumper, it's that everything is slow and sideways. It starts with Houghton who briefly falls asleep whilst the ball is being played. Then he wakes up just in time to throw a slow wobbly looking pass to the first receiver, who runs towards the corner flag for a few paces. Then he passes, then the next man runs towards the flag, then we bring through a half hearted dummy runner who fools nobody. Then there's a bit more running to the corner flag before the centre realises that there are more defenders than attackers and we've slid so far his winger is now sat with the fans. So he cuts inside and takes the tackle. Unless he gets pushed into touch first.
It's awful stuff. It wouldn't trouble most championship teams. Rovers never had to scramble once tonight. They knew that as long as no one needlessly jumped the line or missed one on one tackle we would never be able to break them down, and that's how it went.

| I think it's a bit wrong to say Rovers didn't need to play that well, it's more accurate to say that they didn't need to play that long. They put in a good half & pretty much won the game, then just controlled it & played it out comfortably.

Yeah, that's how it is once we get near the opposition's line. For the first 60-70 metres though it is predominantly one pass, one tackle, one man rugby. Until we're a couple of scores+ down with less than 15 to go, of course.

But I don't mind that because we do make good yards and create field position for ourselves. One man rugby might not be the most exciting thing to watch but it does work if you can then go through the gears when you get in an attacking position. If we manage to get it in first it's a miracle.

what i meant was that rovers made quite a lot of errors and turned the ball over to us on halfway or just inside their half several times. despite being granted this useful ball we did nothing of note with it in attack, and even the try we scored from a rovers mistake was highly debatable. as one other poster said, as long as rovers didn't make any one on one missed or misreads, they were never likely to concede
its quite shocking though to think a team playing us only has to have one good half (and leeds did similar) and they win the game comfortably

| Look, before tge game i said, rovers will score 20+.. history states this season that they will.... we wont score 20, and history states weve scored 20 only twice this year if my records are correct.... its no surprise to me that we lost, we was lucky to score 6.... scorless AGAIN i 2nd half, and without a rovers mistake, we'd have scored 0 tlinight

| Quote ="Hasbag"Never been so bored at a rugby game. We are the most clueless team in attack of all time. No options, no dummy runners, nobody running onto the ball or even looking like they want to take it in. Got fed up of watching Westerman run across the line offering the ball and nobody putting their hand up to take it in. I can't remember a single kick of ours that even made it over the try line. You can't win a game by continuously trying to barge over the line, unfortunately as we have no idea what to do with the ball, it's our only tactic.'"
Hit the nail on the head there.
Radford should walk. You can take the lad of east hull but you can't take the east hull of of the lad.

| Sooo predictable. Repeat sets, totally blunt in attack. Some comical PTBs. Keep thinking we're rock bottom but a way to go yet I feel. Was Pryce's "try" even a try?

| That was right up there with performances from the Peter Walsh era.
We are absolutely awful and the book stops with Radford, that play in the second half, 15 metres or so from their line when Thompson drove it in on the sixth summed it up for me, completely clueless.
Or how about near our own line when the ball was played and we nearly lost it because Houghton had his back turned chatting to another player.
Or how about Cunningham been kept away from dummy half and was basically stood like a spare part not knowing what was going on. I could go on and on.
If we can see it why can't Pearson? The entire coaching staff should be fired after that inept insult of a performance.

| Could hear Radford shouting from where we were sat, he was fuming. We must have the flattest attack in the league. No depth, too predictable, every set finishing off with a high kick. Shauls break was the only entertaining decent bit of play, the rest of the attack was awful. Could hear Radford getting angry over rankin for opting to kick and not attack the line. He slammed his fist onto his table as well later on in the game
