Looking at 2014 OOCs, we've got Holdsworth, McDonnell, Horne, Heremaia, Johnson and Whiting as senior players, if the last year is anything to go by, reckon we might extend some of their deals before passes go on sale, thinking DJ and Sir Richard at the top of that list. I'm assuming Lynch retires. Azza's an interesting one. Really useful squad player, but could he be seen to compromise Cunningham's progression by 2015? With the exodus of players to Aus, I'd like to see us on the front foot on retention.

I think Sir Adam is well on top of it tbh. And PG will get who he wants

Isn't Westerman OOC next year, too? He'd be another at the top of my list.

Heremaia all depends on Miller/Horne/Cunningham IMO. By then he may a relatively high earner that we don't need as much, and with not too long left in the tank.

Heremaia's two year break in his career could mean he plays on longer than most

He could, but I don't think he wants to

Heramaia is off too he will stop one more season then switching back to Aus to get his kids into secondary schooling. He made that clear when he re-signed.

Hopefullly we wont need him if Cunningham starts getting more games. Looks a good player from the few times ive seen him.

I think we'll have at least 1 more addition for next year if we get Thompson and paea. With tickle, galea, Briscoe and o'meley going we must still have more cash in the pot

Don't want to see us sign anymore second rowers, assuming the Thompson rmour is true. Rather the money is spent elsewhere and we promote Kent / Hadley / Starling for more game

Hadley will be the next to break through IMO.

Another Prop (to add to Paea and Thompson) would be good - maybe Lopini Paea



I think we need another back as well - dont seem to be any under 21's backs near to the first team (apart from Shaul) but want him at full back, not on the wing

Was thinking the same. Jack Briscoe has been around for a while and hasn't really kicked on. We need somebody to back up Lineham and Crookes next year, if that's not Briscoe then we need to sign someone.

I seem to recall a post by Wheels a few weeks ago, saying Briscoe had been playing quite well for York this year, whereas Shaul didn't seem too interested when he'd played.

Jordan Thompson - Cas Tigers. Heard he is on the way to you guys. You will announce this in November so you won't have to pay a fee.

I'm told Cas have announced this morning that Jordan Thompson has rejected a new contract offer, he's leaving but they don't know who he is signing for......don't worry folks we'll soon find out..... Hudge'll tell us!

You recall correctly mate. Shaul hasn't played for York since that day, whereas Briscoe has done really well all season (same with Kent and Hadley too). Its amazing how much difference a player's attitude can have on a performance!

Crookes and Arundel need gametime, harsh to judge them after so long out. Westerman ..... do me a favour mark!

Arundel and Crookes have looked good in patches but I remain to be convinced that they are good enough if we want to be a top four side.

Arundel -what exactly did he do wrong last night? Not much service, n 1st game in 2months, didn't particularly notice him do much wrong barring daft pen late on. Plus only a young lad, much improvement in him.
Westerman-the hating for westy is by far the weirdest thing I've known as a hull fan about our own players. Top try assister among the forwards, top try scorer, tops most the stats among the forwards, (not including hooking position)Still only 23 as well
Crookes -poor last night, although not much to be done for 1st try. Again little game time in a long period. Great early part of season. Still showed great speed n toughness in bits of the game.

Crookes is a back up player only for us next season surely. If he's a starter next season then he'll get targeted all season. Broughton would have been a good signing but signed for Huddersfield I believe.
As for Arundel he's average/good but again I don't believe he's good enough to start for us and be Yeamans replacement. If we want to be a top 4 side then we need better than Arundel.

The Westerman bashing imo is just nonsense. He's peoples scapegoat when he's been very good this season.

Someone was needed to replace,seymour, horne (in previous seasons) hall, thorman etc as a scapegoat !
