| I've had a look at the last set of accounts filed by the SMC in April for the year to 31 July 2010. There is a detailed profit and loss account which shows that FC paid the SMC £629,909 during that accounting period, with City paying £1,619,180. I make our total league attendance during that period 179,934 and City's is quoted as 463,406. If these are correct, that means FC fans paid £3.51 per ticket to the SMC and City fans paid £3.49.
I don't know whether these figures are entirely accurate (the attendance ones), and there are some specific costs attributable to FC, but directionally they are probably right. I'm unsure as to quite how Mr Allam can claim that we are getting all the services the SMC provide for pretty much nowt when on the face of it we're absolutely paying our way. Does anyone have any insight on the implication that we're freeloading at the KC, because I'm not sure the filed statutory accounts support it?

| I think that that is working on the basis of a "per fan" cost scenario, in my view, the SMC's costs are not dependent upon the number of fans at a game, but rather the number of games it must maintain

Which is an entirely fair point, although there will be a mix of fixed and variable elements that we would never get visibility of, and to some extent I'm playing devil's advocate to compensate for Allam saying we pay practically nothing.

| I think this news should be greeted with cheer by us FC fans. For me, it puts an annual value on our lease of around £600k. Now if what I read on here is correct, we have around 42 years left on our lease, so the price for us to be moved on (If Mr Allam gets control) could be more than he wants to pay for the actual stadium.
If you read his press comments, he uses phrases like "If the Council don't want my gift (meaning the sports village)". I take this to mean - give me the stadium and I'll give you this dream !!!
Thing is, I reckon those looking at the pictures see them as just that - a dream - and one to get the stadium for nowt.

| Just shows what a load of old balls Assam Allem is spouting and he has no real grip on reality when it comes to sport in Hull. I heard the offer he put in to the council to buy all the land around the stadium was low and if the amount is true its pretty derisory.
I see his beloved City are stuggling to pay transfer fees which seems strange when he can give Rovers a gift of £1M.
He seems to think he is a Saint to the City of Hull and we as a City owe him something in return.

| It would be interesting to break it down a bit more. City for example this season played 23 league games at home as well as a couple of cup games (i presume) so they are in effect playing almost twice the amount of games at home than we do. Also they get larger gates and require more stewarding then the rugby does.

Also would that not require more work on the pitch, so the groundsmans bill's would be higher.

That is twice in as many days you have exposed my posts
My point is he/she will be required to do more work relating to football than rugby if they play double the amount of games to us.

| Almost 50 grand a match. Shame we didn't have the cash to build our own place like saints. I reckon they will be flying financially in a few years. Anyone know how much their new stadium is costing them? It looks superb

| What exactly is the issue here?
Allam has simply chosen to put money into two sports clubs. Hull City, and to a far lesser extent Hull KR.
He is not obligated to put money into Hull FC or any other sports club, just as David Lloyd wasn't obligated to invest in Hull KR!
What is the problem?

Our "problem" is, unlike you, we have read all of his comments on just how much assistance [uhe[/u gives Hull FC. Now if you're too thick to comprehend this or simply too dumb to appreciate the background, may I suggest you butt out of the conversation?

The fact Allam has said in the media that he has helped Hull FC by letting them use the facilities at the stadium is the main reason for Mrs B's post. Nothing to do with the fact he has not invested in us as a club. I for one don't want a penny of his money involved in Hull Fc.

Correct. Allam has implied he has assisted Hull FC in effectively gifting us use of the KC. My point is that on a SMC income per ticket basis, it would seem that we are paying our way, rather then freeloading as implied. There is, I suppose, a related point that Mr Allam claims £1m+ is appropriate specifically to compensate Rovers for what he has gifted FC. Allam only took over in November, so I'd be interested in understanding how we've accrued benefits from him of this magnitude in 6 months. Either that, or it's another example of inconsistency of statement and sentiment from him. He can, naturally, do what he likes with his money if he wants to support other clubs, but I just think to state we're freeloading at the KC is probably untrue and unnecessarily emotive, and arguably conveniently so.

| i believe we keep the first 7000 of the gate and anything after this is split 50/50 with SMC this deal was set up by shane richardson on the basis we would average 10,000 crowds but i also believe we get a pretty poor return on food and drinks but to pay£ 630.000 for a rugby team is to much and if mr allam does want to help HULL FC then he should look into reducing this cause SMC is making good money from us and city it does not cost 2million to run the stadium for FC and city on match days they also get good revenue from other souces like rents from offices and the pitches and indoor area
