Thinking of upgrading from sky+ to HD
Got an LG 42in HD tv

Has any-one got HD is it worth it to upgrade ?

Its difficult to explain how much better the picture is on movies and sport but You wont believe it, especially on a nice big telly like that.
I wouldnt dream of getting rid of it.

I currently pipe my Sky throughout the house. Is there a way that the signal from the HD can be piped around the house (not bothered if the picture is downgraded from HD in the process)?

I had something through the post the other day and it said Sky HD and set up for free if recommended by an existing customer. Im sorry but I 'chucked' mine I think. Someone may have one though.

Yes, if you're into sport get HD, its far better IMO.

Football, Rugby, everything is far clearer.

I've had HD for ages and when I got a little skint, I cancelled movies instead of HD. If that tells you how good I think it is?

Yes - we had an additional tv linked up to the Sky box and when HD was put in it was linked again (the Sky bloke did it). We get all the HD channels on the non-HD TV.

I run a second HD ready TV off my HD box. It works but is not HD quality. There are two aerial input sockets at the back of the box so just run the second to your second tv. (If that makes sense ?)

Just rang HD box free, £30 installation, extra £9.75 month.

We run our sky from our TV in the lounge into the TV in the conservatory, so will the one in the conservatory still pick up sky but just not in HD ?

yes, will work the same but as you say 2nd tv not in HD.

You will not be disappointed! The difference is vast yet hard to explain. Had mine 18 months now and would rather go hungry than cancel it! Gutted it's free now though when I shelled out £250!

TBH when I upgraded to sky + about 2 years ago HD was £250



so I never bothered, we have had our HD tv for a couple of years but unless I upgrade what is the point, ordered it now and looking forward to it

HD is worth every penny, can't wait until Saturday night as sport really does benefit from HD.

ive got a 42 in" lg tv and had HD about 2 years and i guarantee that you will be pleased-in fact youll be disappointed when you have to watch something that ISNT in HD

Movies and Sports are fantastic in HD. It is a bit of a con as not all the HD programs are transmitted in HD (a minority aren't).

I'd make sure your TV is 1080p, it's the new dawn of HD TV but only currently available through BlueRay, and as good as standard HD is, you can notice the difference further through 1080p.

yeah id say its pretty good sky HD not a big difference from normal but you can tell sometimes.

Do I have to have the full sky package to upgrade as I don't have & don't want the movies!

dont think so we cancel sports over the off season.

Asked me if i wanted it when i got Sky+ in last month..........told em no thanks...as long as picture is ok and i wasnt forking out another £10 a mth.
