| Today was certainly one of the worst,as it was bog standard from both teams, but in my honest opinion rovers v hull 1980 was an absolute shocker, the only good thing about it was the result !

| It was a shocker but there have been plenty of poor finals over the years, especially when Wigan dominated in the late 80s/early 90s.

I agree with this and what you put in your other post about us all being 'micky wet through' an awful day we never even saw Wembley Way - And I have just got wet through again walking home from the coach still #fctillIdie

| As a neutral, I enjoyed it. Outcome always uncertain until the last five minutes because the Hull threat was always there.

Awful advert for RL. Wigan didn't get out of 2nd gear.

You really think that Wigan didn't have to work for their points?
You really think tht the deluge didn't contribute to the poor quality?
You are the stereotype of a moaning 2@ who happens to follow RL.

Really mate??? 2@, very clever
I've flown from Sydney to watch this game, nothin else, so I think I've the right to my opinion.
We were woeful in attack, as we're Wigan. Our defence saved us even more of an embarrassment than we suffered. The rain was there for both teams, our mistakes handed them the game, FACT
Any NRL team, even Eels and Tigers would have taken Wigan to the cleaners today. Our best chance to win and we blew it!

| Disappointing thing for me is that anything like the performances in france or at hudds and we would have won. Did we freeze or bottle it Who knows but we were nowhere near good enough on the day

Good in France and at Huddersfield but outweighed by being cr@p in far too many games this season.
Yesterday just being another.

| A copy of what I put on the Wigan board..,
Wigan fan and Hull KR fans will naturally have enjoyed it, because you got the result and, Wigan the silverware. I hope it's enjoyed. I've got absolutely nothing against Wigan, and I'm honestly pleased for the fans.
But as a rugby league game, especially one representing our game in a cup final on TV watch by many neutrals and quite possible a good few it being their first game of RL, it was nothing short of a disaster of a game. The weather clearly ruined it and debatably this Rhino ball probably didn't help, but both teams especially Hull but Wigan were crap as well served up an indifferent display. It was incredibly boring, never got any flow, skill was just about absent although there are merits in the respective defensive displays. Without any doubt, the worst cup final in living memory. Apart from those who managed to get some enjoyment out of it by receiving the silverware it will hopefully be forgotten.

And this is exactly why I'd question gentle's coaching ability. Doesn't get us playing well enough consistently for me. Recruitment has also been patchy but I'm hoping they have a couple of top class players waiting in the wings for next season (unlikely I know). Far too many continued problems for me to believe gentle is good enough. Best part of our game is defence and I understand radders is defence coach. Attack is unstructured and we look more likely to score from 50 metres than we do 10

| It wasn't just a awful game it was a awful day full stop.
wembley isn't set up for a wet day like yesterday, we were there early and from the moment the heavens opened the turn styles should have been opened so fans could get out of the rain. Sat in wet clothes all day isn't great.
The game from a neuteral was very poor with little to get excited about,I know one or two of the hull players and all season your attack and game plan his dated and based on a error free game so when it goes wrong like yesterday there is no plan B that said Wigan were just has bad and there for beating.
I've read plenty of the trouble from fc fans and that cà nt be disputed but to the main the fc fans were magnificent and a credit to the club and this shouldn't be ruined by a few idiots.

| Never went to the game as I previously stated and it was the first final ive missed since 1980 but I am seriously unhappy with what gets served up on the pitch on a week to week basis. The Agar years turned me off paying large amounts of money to essentially watch garbage and I have seen very little to show that has changed under Gentle. Far too many times we look like we'll achieve only to give a performance of abject failure and low and behold we go and serve up that UTTERLY EMBARASSING PATHETIC attempt of a performance on what is a world stage.
The writing was on the wall from the warm up. Ive never seen a player looking as scared as Ben Crooks but nobody spoke to him, he was just left to fend for himself. Players who should be giving the performance of their lives ie Tickle and O'Meley gave their worst and the half backs were appauling. Anyone who thinks these two are the ones to lead to us to any form of glory need their heads looking at. Yes I know we defended but that's all we did but the score still shows 16-0 so we cant of defended that well against a Wigan team who didn't even look like the broke a sweat. Players who I have previously defended like Westerman seem to of had all ability to attack coached out of them, same goes for Watts.
For me though that performance yesterday embarrassed the club, the town, the fans and the game of rugby league. An estimated 20000 FC fans went yesterday which is double what we normally get for a home game so 10000 floating fans decided to spend their hard earned going to London and how many of those do you think will do that again? Not many imo
An utterly shameful performance that has to go down as one of the worst ever by an FC side and very dark day for the club and city as a whole

| Unless you were down there you couldn't realise just how bad the conditions were. It was heaving down. Wigan played the better wet weather rugby, just as Widnes did the other week v Wire.
BOTH sides defended really well, it's a side of the game that the vast majority of spectators seem to ignore, Harrison Hansen was superb in that facet of his game, how would have got the Lance Todd for me.
Anyway that's Challenge Cup #19 for Wigan, the third time we've nilled a club at Wembley and now become the FIRST town to hold the F.A. Cup and Challenge Cup in the same year.
Not bad for a little town eh!!!
