5 rounds left, 7 teams competing for Top 5, 5 in a relegation scrap. Apart from Saints running away with it, everyone still has something to play for. Rovers have done us a favour beating Cas to keep a 4 point cushion. Big round coming up next weekend, loads of different permutations in the play-off battle. Interested to see the outcome of the disciplinary on Monday as Wire and Catalans could be in a bit of bother.

We seem to be racking up the injuries again with Manu, Bowden, Westerman, Savelio, Paea and Kelly all doubts? Kelly is chest apparently (sternum/pectorals can be bad ones) and Savelio a broken foot.

from hulls point of view,our poor points for and against,could come back and bite us.

Been saying this, we could miss out. With everyone apart from Saints having something to play for every game will be tough. A win next week would be huge and we do have a long turnaround Just need some bodies back.

I agree, I'm not worried about which position we finish in as long as we're in it. But I am expecting us to win the majority of our last 5 games, which should give us a good chance of top 3.

Big ask to finish second. Given the points difference and unlikelihood of drawn games we are effectively four points behind Warrington with five games left. Reallistically we'd have to win all five. Saints will not rest anyone in round 29 as they have the following week off.

We could do with Rovers beating Wigan next weekend.

We could do with Hull winning their next couple, ideally by very big margins.

Saints can't be caught, so how they treat the last few games, with Wembley to come, is anybody's guess. Warrington have some tough games, I can see them missing out on 2nd unless they beat saints on Thursday.
I suppose teams are all playing each other, so some teams will be dropping points.

Flew back into Manchester today after a hol and the Warrington players arrived at the same time, They looked a bit a battered Blake Austin was on crutches a few others looked to be limping a bit and if they kop some bans this week I can't see them getting anything from the St's game so we could be level points come Sunday.

having just lost two matches on the bounce i'm not feeling confident right now. SL teams are hitting their straps and we should treat wakefield, salford and huddersfield with respect. having said that, 2nd place is up for grabs and hopefully we can get the wins. i would not like to swap our next three fixtures with warringtons that's for sure

Warrington have a really tough run in anyway. Throw in the distraction of a cup final and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could drop all the way to 4th.

Next two weeks are:

Wire v Saints
Wigan v Rovers
Wakefield v Hull

Wigan v Wire
Hull v Salford

If those games all go to the favourites we will have:

Hull: 32
Warrington: 30
Wigan: 30

Then Warrington will have to pick themselves up after a cup final and put in a big last 3 games to save their top 3 spot.

It's all hypothetical of course. If we knew what was going to happen we wouldn't bother playing the games. But now the cup is gone 2nd has to be the goal. If we end up 4th or 5th then so be it, at least we would still be in. But top 3 is so important in this structure.

It all seems a lot more interesting than last year
