#HullDailyMail reports #HullFC have formally offered Tom Briscoe extended deal. Expecting decision from player early in the New Year.

Would be great to keep Tom long term, I just hope his mind isn't already made up.

Lets get all the contract talks out of the way before the season kicks in. The last thing we need are these diversions during the year.

I hope if we do keep him its not on 'huge money'. As good as he is it doesn't make sense using a large part of the cap on a winger.

The fact we're doing business in the media again doesn't fill me with confidence on this one. Seems to be a tactic that we tell the press to try and put some pressure on the player

So, just for the avoidance of doubt, we're now complaining the club are saying to much in the media? after spending years saying they didn't comunicate enough? I have got that right haven't I?

I believe the club know that he has his heart set on going to Oz and they have made their offer now for two reasons:

1. to convince us that they did everything reasonably possible to keep him. I'm sure we would all like him to stay, but not at any price,

2. to get the matter sorted one way or the other as soon as possible in order to get with recruitment for 2014 with, or without, Tom.

Laughable isnt it, all those years this forum imploded with the "no comms" gang shouting about it, now we get more than ever and they are the same ones complaining

think its more likely that PG knows he is an explosive game changer , young and british and he wants to keep him so offered him a cracking deal to see if we can get him to stay, there are few better places that Oz for a young man to go and experience life away from the UK so why wouldnt he be tempted to go !!

I think you are being a bit too simplistic in your thoughts.

Whilst everyone is ecstatic at the change in communication levels from the past, there is a line where it can become damaging. One I would say is discussing contract offers. If Briscoe wants to leave, then we can come out after and say we offered him x, y and z. In our experiences so far, Manu, Prince etc, I don't see the benefit of making announcements to the world.

I think Hull know he's probably already made his mind up and are just trying to show the fans they did all they could to keep him. Good luck to him either way.

An nrl team have to want him in the first place and its seems they are only ever after our forwards , nrl teams spit first class backs out for fun imo . That said I hope he signs for us but I think he will end up at leeds if not the nrl

I can't imagine that Ben Galea was going round telling everyone that Tom Briscoe was moving to Aus next season.

I hope he stays but if not I'd rather see him play in the NRL than a rival SL team .

Whatever happens I hope the club stick to their guns that this is their 'final offer' and don't get sucked in to a bidding war.

as good as Tom is, you can't spend mega money on a winger...particularly when we need a Scrum Half so badly.

Hopefully a decision one way or the other very soon to avoid months of speculation.
