It's about time we started letting players get right within themselves before needing to put them in. it showed at murrayfield last year with horney,when he played with TWO injuries,all strapped up which basically finished his season.

Exactly, we should have planned the season without him, let him get back in his own time and then possibly give him a bit part role to build his fitness and confidence back without having to play with injections or being rushed, then if he did start to fire on all cylinders again it would be a bonus and we would have a selection dilemma, the rely on him heavily and rush him back approach hasn't worked for the past three seasons.

(imho) dont think rich has been anywhere near his former self since his terrible injury. Which understandably not a lot of people would [uever[/u come back to top form from.

Too much defense IMO. Whilst it's great to see his appetite for work I personally think he does too much, and perhaps he's paying for it now.

The injuries and illness he has had to deal with has been terrible, and to keep going is commendable but if it is to be another season like last few then maybe it is time to call it a day..
Hopefully they let him come back when he is fully recovered this time tho..

I wouldn't right him off just yet,yes he's had more than his share of problems but he's young enough to come through it. There's plenty of players before him who've struggled with major injuries over 2 or 3 seasons and come back firing,Paul sculthorpe's one that springs to mind.

Im a big fan of rich but it pains me now to see him play. No were near his best and a big knock takes him out for for weeks on end. Time for him to hang his boots up and concentrate on his life after rugby...I reckon he'll be a face around Hull FC for many years to come, hopefully work towards his coaching and be a great hull coach in the future.

When you read this it makes you wonder what is going through Agar's mind ! Does he think he can get by with what he has and give a glimmer of hope for some silverware ?

If you watch the highlights from the early games last season Horney was on fire, scoring and making some typical Horney tries.

If he can rehab his knee he can still do it.

Not the way coaches get treat on here.... Can you imagine the uproar if orney got the job?? JEEEEZZZ

I was told by someone close to the England set up back in November that Horney was struggling.
He has said another bad season of injuries and he will retire. I for one hope he pulls through and gets back to his best.

Another year of taking the money while majorly obstructing the clubs progress! Sorry, i just don't see Horne saying that, he's too honest. He must genuinely believe he can get back to his best or he would of already retired.

With the greatest of respect to Horne who has been brilliant for you over the years he looks from the outside to be completly burnt out.
I know he has had major problems but could it be that he broke on the scene at such an early age which led to him playing so many games at that young age?, something that is now catching up with him when he should be hitting his peak?
Again I mention this with an olive branch as I come in peace but I wonder what others think.

He showed last season in a couple of games that he still has it in him. He is just very unfortunate with his injuries. It has not helped that the club have forced him to play before he is 100% fit due to our ongoing halfback problems.
We bring in another halfback to ease the pressure and we may well see Horne back to his best.

Even in the games he played towards the end of the season he got onto a couple of decent balls and made fairly length breaks. Has lost some of his pace but still the best backer up we have and his short kicking game has always been pretty good.

Horne should be 100% before he comes back, he showed enough last season to suggest he is not finished but he needs more games this season. He played through injuries a lot last seaosn and that really hurt him, I feel another bad season injurywise and he will call it a day.

And for more than just the last few seasons. For years Horne has played on with various injuries when he should really have been rested, and I get the feeling that this has now caught up with him.

At 28 Horne should just be in the peak of his career. At some point the club have say enough is enough and let him go. If were being honest, if it was any other player thay would have been released.

And so it starts. We best find that halfback 'cover' quickly if we're going to be without one of our two halfbacks for the start of the season. I can't believe we're in this situation having had the last FOUR years to sort the problem out.
