Im loving these positive vibes after two woeful seasons, my head rather than my heart tells me this is going to be a good season iff and for us its a big iff we have a fair run on the injury front.

He's a key signing and you can certainly compare the two in their standing in the game.

I try not to pay too much heed to the kind of quotes we get at this time of year from coaches and players as they are the same every year but the changes to the squad give us more right to be confident than we have for a number of years.

I've just watched the DVD, "Road to Wembley" to get me in the Christmas mood. The players that I saw who will not be with us next year are Barnett jnr, Blacklock, Briscoe, Brough, Carvell, Chester, Cooke, G Horne, Kearney, King, McMenemy, Saxton, Swain, Thackery, Tony.

dont underestimate Cussacks influence either, very respected amongst the lads I am told and also as he is the fitzotrons mate its a bit of a "come on boys sort yourselves out" culture growing, and happily everyone is on board !!

The future certainly looks bright.... In fact the future looks Black and White. I bet all the new lads have even learnt 'Old Faithful' for the after match victory dressing room shananigans.

Fitz to replace Kearney, Berro possibly replaced Swain now he has good pros around him, but Mcmenemy, no one, he was a cultured second rower good hands,kicking game,vision and decent tackling game very difficult to replace, as is mentioned very underated.
But we are still very positive for this season so lets not it slip, and really get behind the team from the first minute, especially seeing who the opposition are.

The loyalty and patience of the FC fans over the last two seasons has been remarkable. None of us can wait for the season to start and I'm sure we'll all be 100% behind the team. But now it really is time for that loyalty and patience to be rewarded. I don't expect to win any trophies. I don't even expect to get to any finals. What I do expect is performances full of pride, passion and committment. I expect the players to play like it means as much to them as it does to us. If I get this I will be happy.



It would also be nice to beat the Dobbins at least once.

If the players give the same commitment to Hull F.C. as the fans,it will be a great season.

So if they play with pride and show commitment ETC but we finish 10th you will be happy?

imo i can see berro having his best season this year with more leaders on the park the pressure will be lifted off his shoulders, giving him more of a free role

I expect us to make the play-offs and will be happy with that, but believe anyone who is expecting e.g. a top four finish or some silverware is being over optimistic and is likely to be disappointed.

TBH I expect nothing less than a stuttering start as they get used to each other etc etc but I also expect a real seige mentality to evolve very quickly afterwards with no one wanting to play us !!
