Yup, looks like they have turned the corner. Could be above us in a couple of weeks.

Bad times at Wigan and Bradford though, who may both be looking for new coaches in the not too distant future.

Although, to be fair, Smith has a much better squad and fewer injuries to deal with as well.

The main difference that Smith seems to have made is in motivation and intensity. Good effort from Carvell also - we certainly miss that go forward.

Fewer injuries for sure but does he really have a MUCH better squad? I dont think so thats why we are so annoyed because we have talent not playing to potential.

Wigan fans have wanted Knobbys head for a while.

IMO the Wire squad is better than ours in most positions. In particular they have far better halfbacks and a much bigger pack.

Only Cullen stopped them being a real force this season. Under Smith they are starting to realise their potential.

Thought he made quite a few errors tonight TBH. The effort was good but blew a few chances in attack.

Took him nearly 2 seasons though...every time i have seen him he has been very average and he was $hite last week.

Disagree totally...Monaghan isnt much better than thorman and Briers better than Horne?????

Monaghan has more ability in his little finger than Thorman has in his entire body. He hasn't exactly been in sparkling form since joining Wire but is still capable of putting in performances that Thorman can only dream about.

Horne and Briers have different skills I'd take Monaghan any day over Thorman.

Have to disagree with that.

They have a better set of props and a canny scrum half in briers. Their backs are nothing special man for man (imagine the outcry if we had signed Mathers!).

A very well coached team now though.....

Horne isn't currently playing halfback.

Monaghan is a lot better than Thorman, although I'll grant you that he doesn't show it often enough.
