Anybody recommend a good Indian restaurant in Hull?

Got to take some customers out for a meal and they have chosen Indian and I have only ever really been to Raj Pavilion or Bengal Lounge on Princes Ave.

Any recommendations would be welcome!

Cinnamon is one of the best value/quality balance £9.95 any starter, main, rice and bread. Very good curry

Overall best service probably Bengal Pride

I'd go with cinnamon too. Really great food just in a bit of a hole area

Tapasya on Beverley High Road is superb never eaten at cinnamon so can't compare.

Cinnamon is ok. Was at Bengal Pride last night and it wasn't as good as it's been in the past.

Voujon used to be very good but since they started doing Groupon deals it went right downhill

Never had a bad meal at Cinnamon so that is my recommendation.

I went to Rays Place down Princess Av last night and it was superb. The best curry I have had for ages.

Went to Cinnamon 3 weeks ago, place was half full, a group of ten of us, took over an hour for the starters to come, I walked out, never witnessed such bad service!

Barinda is a great Indian , They also do a lot of fish dishes as well as the usual curries.

Never had a bad meal at Raj Pavilion. If you're prepared to trek outside of Hull, Ve Raj at Shiptonthorpe is superb.

was gonna book Cinnamon until I heard about the long time to get served - although on a Monday night I wouldn't expect to see any delays.

Maybe if 10 of you are planning on just turning up it might be wise to book a table.

People with Rovers shirts on get delays, as they need to take extra time to prepare the slow acting poison they add to the dishes



I've been countless times, and you won't be waiting that long for food. I never have.

Always expect the unexpected.

We went on a Monday night last year - a group of about a dozen of us - prebooked. Food was great but service was mega slow. But other times we've been and it was as you'd expect.

I'm not a curry mad fan but been to Amaam in Anlaby a couple of times for birthday meals with family & have to say on each occasion both food & service were great.

Whenever back in town we always go to Bengal Pride on Chants ave. Never had a meal to suggest I shouldn't be going back. Specials are decent too.

I'd second Surma at Barton. Well worth the trip across the bridge. It is fantastic, we went last weekend. Doesn't win awards for being crap.

As I say, been a long time since I went (around 4 years I'd imagine), good to know it's still up to muster

Taking the customers to Raj Pavillion - seen as though Cinnamon and Bengal Lounge were not picking up the phone - and booked Surma for me and the Mrs for Saturday night!

Both good choices!
