Rovers will certainly make a move and likely have already, especially if he starts the season well we’ll have a battle to keep him, up to us to make him a good offer if we see fit. We’ll just have to wait and see just hope he has a big season for us and whatever happens after will happen.

Hooker is wide open at Hull. Bourouh has the 9 shirt, but I don't see him as having the starting berth nailed down by any stretch. Balmforth could make the spot his own with a good run of performances. It sounds like he's really put the work in during the off season. He and Cartwright seem to have a good relationship, the investment must be exciting for the players when they see the improvements in facilities etc. If he goes to Rovers he's back to being a squad player, at least for now. Unless Rovers are throwing a lot of money at him (which seems unlikely) then it shouldn't be too hard of a sell to get him to stay.

Still think if Balmforth does end up at Rovers it will be little to do with them appointing Riding but more that they’ll likely be in the market for a 9 in 2026 anyway.
